Donald Trump made 84 false claims last week

CNN's Erin Burnett noted today that Donald Trump (who once bragged – falsely – that no one has more respect for women than he does) has a history of calling women "nasty" if they dare to criticize him or challenge him. The Danish Prime Minister, who very politely said the idea of selling Greenland is "absurd," is his latest target – and yet in September 2017 when North Korean leader Kim Jong-un called him a "frightened dog" and a "mentally deranged dotard," Trump never objected or complained. Quite the opposite. He met with Kim three times and sent love letters to him. 그는 확실히 정신적으로 미친 도타드입니다!
Donald Trump never served in the military. He paid a doctor for a phony diagnosis of "bone spurs" and was able to get five draft deferments. And yet.......

"He will exalt himself and defy everything that people call god and every object of worship. He will even sit in the temple of God, proclaiming that he himself is God." – II Thessalonians 2:4, New Living Translation. Whoever fulfills that prophecy would have to be the most vain, pompous, conceited, egotistical, narcissistic person who ever lived. Who in the world could he be?

For many years, Trump claimed Obama was not born in the United States. In 2011, Trump promised to release his tax returns if Obama released his birth certificate. That was a lie. In 2014, Trump promised to release his tax returns if he decided to run for office. That was a lie. In 2016, Trump promised to release his tax returns as soon as an "audit" was completed. That was a lie. He no longer promises to release his tax returns. He's willing to go all the way to the Supreme Court to keep his tax returns secret. What is he hiding?

In private, Emperor Trump fears a recession. In public, he brags – regardless of whether it's true – that the economy is "doing really well," spending is up, employment is up, manufacturing jobs are returning, the stock market is strong and we're winning the trade war with China and it's all because of him and only him. There have been 47 recessions in United States history. The most recent was December 2007 to June 2009. Many analysts foresee recession #48 coming in 2020 but it will not be as severe as #47. Trump will likely blame the recession on the Federal Reserve. He certainly won't blame himself. Emperors don't make mistakes.

The Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System oversees the Federal Reserve banking system and sets US monetary policy. The Federal Reserve, founded in 1913, is an independent government agency but is ultimately accountable to Congress and to the public. Jerome Powell was nominated by Emperor Trump to chair the Federal Reserve Board and was confirmed by the Senate in December 2017. Emperor Trump believes he has the authority to order Powell to lower interest rates. He doesn't. Trump has now turned against Powell. Sooner or later, Trump turns against everyone. in June, Trump said Powell is "not doing a good job" and "seems happy raising interest rates." Today, Powell is an "enemy."

"We don't need China and, frankly, would be better off without them," Emperor Trump declared today after China imposed tariffs on $75 billion of American goods. We're in a trade war, you know – a trade war which Emperor Trump insists we are "winning."

Trump says on October 1 he will impose an additional 5% tariff on Chinese goods which already have a tariff of 20%. Will he really do that or is his threat just a bargaining tool? Regardless, it is not the Chinese who pay for those tariffs; Americans are paying for them.

Trump 'hereby' orders US business out of China. Can he do that?

If you don't want to read this entire Washington Post article, I can summarize it for you: "No."
The leaders of Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, the US and the UK – the "Group of Seven" – will take part in the G7 summit August 24-25 in Bierritz, France. Actually, it's more like a G6 summit plus Trump. Donald Trump wants to do everything his own way and sees cooperation with other nations as a sign of weakness. New York Times political analyst Peter Baker calls Trump "one of the biggest sources of global economic instability." Indeed. Engaging in trade wars, imposing tariffs which hurt Americans, attacking the Fed chairman as an "enemy" comparable to Xi Jinping, ordering American businesses to quit doing business with China (which he has no power to do), giving huge tax cuts to big corporations and the wealthiest Americans, allowing our national debt and our federal deficit to skyrocket, ignoring climate change, rolling back clean-air and clean-water protections and vowing to get coal miners back to work (as though it's 1840, not 2019) – our economy will not be able to survive another four years of Emperor Trump. Remember that. Four hundred thirty-seven days till Election Day.

Fed Chairman Jay Powell and economists say Trump's tariffs and trade wars are increasing the likelihood of a recession. This weekend's G-7 summit in Biarritz is turning out just as we expected: Trump vs. the other 6. Trump is an isolationist who does not believe in cooperation, nor does he care about the interests of other countries. Why is he even at the summit?
