KNX is reporting that the gunman called 911 and the FBI tip line and left "rambling messages" after being fired from his job at Journey Oil Field Services. Angry, mentally unstable people never have any difficulty getting weapons. Never.

McMillion says Walmart is "doing our part to make the country safer." What a concept! Why can't Trump and the Republicans do the same? Oh, right. I know why. Trump and the Republicans are puppets of the NRA – and the NRA doesn't care about gun violence. Or human life.
Walmart CEO Doug McMillon implores Congress to 'do their part' to stop gun violence
Walmart is eliminating the sale of handguns and handgun ammunition and will add measures to increase security in its stores, which will include stopping people from openly carrying guns in its stores.

The resolution notes, "All countries have violent and hateful people, but only in America do we give them ready access to assault weapons and large-capacity magazines, thanks in large part to the NRA's influence." For Republicans and the NRA, the supposed "right" of every American to own all the guns he wants far outweighs any American's inalienable right to "life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness" (as set forth in the Declaration of Independence).

The Second Amendment to the Constitution gave citizens the right to arm themselves and form a "well-regulated militia" to guard against the threat of government tyranny. The Supreme Court, in District of Columbia v. Heller (2008), re-interpreted the Amendment to give everyone the right to own lots of weapons. No well-regulated militias exist – but every day in the United States of America, dozens of people are shot and killed. Is America "great" yet?

If Emperor Trump proposes any gun control legislation (which he will never do, because he's a puppet of the NRA), the legislation, assuming all 47 Democratic and independent Senators support it, would not pass unless at least 13 Republicans support it (which they will never do, because they're puppets of the NRA). We can file this story under "Wishful Thinking."

A 4-year-old Fort Worth boy was shot and killed by his 5-year-old brother while their mother was asleep. Four other children were injured in three separate shooting incidents in Texas. Shootings such as these and the recent massacres in El Paso and Odessa have led former Texas Congressman Beto O'Rourke to announce he will institute mandatory buybacks of semi-automatic weapons if he's elected President.

Tuesday marked two years since a gunman on the 32nd floor of the Mandalay Bay hotel opened fire on the crowd attending a country music festival. Fifty-eight people were killed and more than 500 were injured. Without admitting responsibility, MGM Resorts has agreed to a settlement to compensate the victims.
