ESPN says Shohei Ohtani has signed with the Dodgers for 10 years and $700,000,000. Biggest contract in MLB history.

On average, a year has 365.2425 days and 87,658.2 hours. With a salary of $700,000,000, Shohei Ohtani will earn $7,985.56 every hour of every day for ten years!

Ohtani had surgery in October and will not be able to pitch until 2025. Next year he will be just a DH.

The Dodgers have won their first 3 exhibition games. Ohtani did not play in any of them. They spent $700 million to get him and maybe they don't need him as much as they thought.

Ohtani finally played today. He hit a two-run home run in his third at-bat. Dodgers have scored 47 runs in six games and are 5-0. One game was a tie and does not count in the standings.

Tropicana Hotel in Las Vegas will be imploded at 2:30 tomorrow morning. New A's stadium will be built on the site.

After six minutes of fireworks, the Tropicana Hotel was imploded this morning. Here is the video. Construction of the Athletics' new 33,000-seat stadium is scheduled to begin in April 2025 and be completed in January 2028.

Dodgers just beat Mets to win the National League pennant. They will face the Yankees in the World Series. Game 1 is October 25.

World Series game 2. Yankees got a home run in the 3rd inning and scored another run in the 9th. They left the bases loaded. Dodgers won 4-2.

The Dodgers beat the Yankees 4-2 in World Series game 3 tonight and are one win away from a championship. The odds are against the Yankees. Of the three sports that have a best-of-seven championship series – MLB, NBA, NHL – only one team has ever won a championship after losiing the first three games. The Toronto Maple Leafs won the 1942 Stanley Cup after losing their first three games against the Detroit Red Wings.

The Dodgers' Freddie Freeman has set a major league record for hitting a home run in six consecutive World Series games. Tonight he hit a two-run home run in the first inning of World Series game 4. He has homered in each of the four games. While with the Braves in 2021, he homered in the final two World Series games against the Astros. The Braves won that Series, four games to two.

And, oh yeah, the Yankees beat the Dodgers tonight, 11-4. Game 5 begins at 8:08 PM Eastern time October 30.

The Dodgers are the 2024 World Series champions after beating the Yankees 7-6 tonight in game 5. Shohei Ohtani was a major disappointment. He had only two hits in the five games. In game 5, he struck out with the bases loaded. He wasn't the only disappointment, though. In games 4 and 5, the Dodgers had a span of 27 at-bats without a hit. But they.....are the champions, my friend.

Freddie Freeman was named World Series MVP. He had 4 home runs and 12 RBIs.

Shohei Ohtani was named National League MVP. He and Frank Robinson are the only players to win MVP in both leagues.
