In Iowa, liberals and younger voters prefer Sanders while moderates, conservatives and older voters prefer Biden. A recent poll showed a majority of Democrats do not want a septuagenarian candidate. Apparently nobody from Iowa took part in that poll.

Robert Francis "Beto" O'Rourke is officially a Presidential candidate. Beto is the Spanish nickname for "Roberto." When O'Rourke was a child, his parents called him Beto to distinguish him from his grandfather, Robert Williams. The nickname stuck.

Because Republicans know there are few positive things that can be said about Donald Trump, their campaign strategy is: "Bash Democrats." With the Presidential election 20 months away, Trump and the Republicans have already started attacking Democrats as "socialists" who want "crime" and "open borders." A former Notre Dame professor is troubled today by the Republicans' "use of stereotypes to wound potential opponents."

Democrats had better hope their party's candidates heed this advice:
Democrats may blow it in 2020
General national opinion doesn’t conform to that of party activists. Ask President McGovern.
Ted Van Dyk, The Wall Street Journal, Mar 17 20119 2:43 PM
In their fever to dispense with President Trump immediately, Democrats are losing sight of what Marxists called the "objective conditions" in the country and the fundamentals of Presidential politics. Unless they take care, they will forfeit their chance to regain the White House in 2020 and could return Congressional control to Republicans as well.

O'Rourke, a Democrat, won 48% of the vote in last November's Senate race in deep-red Texas, losing to Republican incumbent Ted Cruz. In 2017-18, O'Rourke's campaign raised a record $70.2 million in donations. Cruz raised $33.4 million. Millions of Democratic voters like O'Rourke -- but the most recent polls have him in 6th place behind Biden, Sanders, Harris, Warren and Booker. His choice for VP could be crucial to his chances.

Biden knows he needs to raise a lot of money to compete with Beto and Bernie but several wealthy Democratic donors have told Biden they aren't willing to help him raise funds this early in the campaign because they're skeptical about his chance of winning the nomination. On September 27, 2017, after years of complaing that California has no "electoral relevance" and Presidential candidates do very little campaigning in California, Governor Jerry Brown signed a bill moving the state's primary elections from June to March. Note: This poll was conducted by Fox News, a.k.a. the Trump Cheerleading Channel:
Biden and Sanders more popular than Trump in head-to-head comparisons
Business Insider, Mar 24 2019
Former Vice President Joe Biden and Senator Bernie Sanders are favored to President Donald Trump, according to head-to-head comparisons in a new Fox News poll released today. Respondents sharply favored the Democrats over other candidates in the field, but in head-to-head match-ups, people cast Biden as topping the President by seven points, slightly more than Sanders' three-point lead over Trump. This is the latest in several polls that project distinctly higher favor among the 2020 field for the two Democrats.

As a member of the Grammar Police, I have to point out that the phrase "of all the 2020 contenders" refers to Biden, not to Democrats, and should not be at the beginning of the sentence. I should also point out that Biden still has not announced his candidacy.
