Kalb co-founded the Blues Project in 1965. The quintet broke up in 1967 after releasing two studio albums and a live album. Al Kooper and Steve Katz went on to form Blood Sweat & Tears. The Blues Project reunited in 1973 and recorded a live album at Central Park. Kalb released several solo albums and recorded with Steve Katz, Stefan Grossman, Bob Jones, Mark Ambrosino and others.
