Infectious disease expert Dr. Harvey Fineberg says people can spread the virus by simply breathing or by talking. That's good to know. So we should be safe as long as nobody breathes or talks.

Globally, there have now been 1,012,486 confirmed cases of coronavirus and 52,932 deaths. The death toll in the United States is 5,865. One hundred forty-four of those deaths have occurred in Florida, where Ron De Santis is Governor. He is a member of the Republican party, which now exists in name only. It has become the Donald Trump party – and its leaders march in lockstep with the orange-skinned cult leader to whom they have sold their souls. Nothing matters to them other than Trump, their party, guns and the wealthiest Americans.
Governor Ron DeSantis risked the lives of Floridians
CNN, Apr 2 2020 2:20 PM
Despite surging numbers of coronavirus fatalities in New York and Washington and a rising tide of Florida editorial boards demanding action, Governor Ron DeSantis did not issue a statewide stay-at-home order until April 1. That made Florida the last state with more than 5,000 coronavirus cases to implement a statewide shutdown. "Unlike some other governors, DeSantis ignored the obvious for too long and Floridians likely are sicker for it," the Miami Herald said in a scathing editorial. "His statewide essential-services-only order, though welcome, is indeed too late."
DeSantis drew widespread condemnation for resisting calls to close Florida's beaches to throngs of students partying for Spring Break. As the Palm Beach Post editorial board put it: "There's no denying it: DeSantis is taking his marching orders from President Trump, who is still downplaying the intensity of COVID-19's grip on the nation, ignoring medical experts and playing politics with Americans' very lives."

There have now been 1,188,489 cases of coronavirus worldwide and 64,103 deaths. In the United States, 8,243 have died. Coronavirus claims an unexpected victim: Florida vegetables
The Associated Press, Apr 8 2020 2:03 PM
Mounds of harvested zucchini and yellow squash ripened and then rotted in the hot Florida sun. Juicy tomatoes were left to wither, unpicked, in farmers' fields. Thousands of acres of fruits and vegetables grown in Florida are being plowed over or left to rot because farmers can't sell to restaurants, theme parks or schools nationwide that have closed because of the coronavirus. Other states are having the same issues. Agriculture officials say leafy greens in California are being hit especially hard and dairy farmers in Vermont and Wisconsin say they have had to dump a surplus of milk intended for restaurants.

King Donald the First spent weeks downplaying the seriousness of the coronavirus pandemic before finally declaring it a national emergency on March 13. Asked about his administration's failure to provide widespread access to coronavirus testing, King Donald said, "I don't take responsibility at all." Trump claims he can overrule states on ending COVID-19 shutdowns
Yahoo News, Apr 13 2020 12:41 PM
With millions of Americans locked down at home and out of work, President Trump today asserted his authority to reopen the country at a time of his choosing, although questions remain over the limits of his power because the governors and mayors, not Trump, are the ones who shut the country down in the first place.
"For the purpose of creating conflict and confusion, some in the Fake News Media are saying that it is the Governors decision to open up the states, not that of the President of the United States & the Federal Government," Trump tweeted today. "Let it be fully understood that this is incorrect. It is the decision of the President, and for many good reasons. With that being said, the Administration and I are working closely with the Governors, and this will continue. A decision by me, in conjunction with the Governors and input from others, will be made shortly!"

Trump slams Chris Wallace, Fox News
HuffPost US, Apr 13 2020 8:36 AM
President Donald Trump on Sunday took time out from his COVID-19 fight to check what Fox News was saying about him – and he came up furious at Chris Wallace. "What the hell is happening to Fox News?" Trump tweeted. He slammed "Mike Wallace wannabe" Chris Wallace and said he's convinced the Fox News host is "even worse than Sleepy Eyes Chuck Todd" of MSNBC. He complained that it's a "whole new ballgame" now at Fox. Trump didn't detail what specifically set him off. But Wallace featured Johns Hopkins health expert Tom Inglesby, who said on Fox News Sunday that had the Trump administration taken earlier action against COVID-19, "we'd be in a much better position" now.

Cuomo says Trump is not a king, can't force states to reopen
The Associated Press, Apr 14 2020 9:07 AM
New York Governor Andrew Cuomo took to morning TV shows today to push back against President Donald Trump's claim of "total" authority to reopen the nation's virus-stalled economy, noting that a President is not an absolute monarch. "We don’t have a king," Cuomo said on NBC's Today. "We have a President. That was a big decision. We ran away from having a king, and George Washington was President, not King Washington. So the President doesn’t have total authority.” The Democratic Governor, whose state has become the epicenter of the coronavirus pandemic in the United States, was reacting to Trump's assertion Monday that "when somebody is President of the United States, the authority is total." "Nope," Cuomo said.
