Sanders, who represents a state where 95% of the population is white, didn't attract very many black voters in 2016. He will need their support if he expects to win in 2020. Will they "feel the Bern," as his slogan says, or will Sanders just wind up getting burned again?

In 2002, investigative reporter Greg Palast wrote a book titled The Best Democracy Money Can Buy, which dealt in part with the 2000 Presidential election. It does seem that in most elections the winner is the candidate who spent the most money campaigning. Look who this year's early money-raising champion is:

The NBC News site just posted an essay by a former aide to Hillary Clinton. We can call this a Negative Bernie Critique.
Bernie Sanders' 2020 presidential campaign will face the scrutiny Clinton got in 2016. Here's what voters missed.
The media didn't consider him a real contender the last time, so what press he got was largely positive. That's about to change.

Who says we voters don't have a choice? We do. The favored Democratic candidates right now are a 76-year-old white man and a 77-year-old white man. Oh, wait.......

The Washington Post just released its newest quarterly ranking of the top 15 Democratic Presidential candidates -- even though only ten have announced their candidacy. The top three: Kamala Harris, Bernie Sanders and Elizabeth Warren. South Bend mayor Pete Buttigieg isn't on the list. I'm shocked. Shocked, I tell you!

Yes, Sanders is raising a lot of money -- but I don't think a majority of voters will view the 77-year-old white man as the best candidate for the Democratic party in 2020.
Bigger is not better. Small dollars online are gold for Democrats taking on Trump.
Bernie Sanders has a head start on the rest of the 2020 primary field. They'll have to catch up quick.

CNN's Wolf Blitzer today hosted a televised Town Hall meeting with Bernie Sanders. Blitzer asked, "If you're the Democratic Presidential nominee and you're on the debate stage with President Trump, how will you engage with him?" Sanders' response drew laughter and then applause: "Well, we'll bring a lie detector along. That will be the first thing." Trump's non-stop lying would probably cause the machine to overheat and explode, though.

I think this makes 11 Democratic candidates so far. Maybe 12. I'm not really sure. I think I've lost count.

Today in his home town, Bernie Sanders held the first rally of his second Presidential campaign. His next rally will be in Chicago. He predicts he will win the Democratic nomination and then the White House. The election is only 611 days, 12 hours and 45 minutes away. Wow!

I doubt any Democrats would want Fox News, a.k.a. the Trump Cheerleading Channel, to host a Presidential debate. That would be like letting a judge who is a fox preside over the trial of a fox who raided a henhouse -- and all 12 jury members are foxes.

Another Democrat has entered the race. This makes 12 so far. I don't know if it would be good to have a President named "Hickenlooper" -- but it's better than "Buttigieg."

Many recent polls show Trump losing in 2020 to a Democrat -- any Democrat. Voters are willing to vote against Trump without even knowing who his Democratic opponent will be. I wonder: If Trump thinks he would lose, will he even run again? Or will he run and risk defeat and being forever branded a "loser"? That would be a crushing blow for Trump, the most pompous, egotistical, narcissistic person who has ever lived.
Early polling suggests 2020 will be about Trump. That's bad news for him.

Remember in 2016 when Trump complained that the polls are rigged, the debates are rigged, the conventions are rigged, the primaries are rigged and the election is rigged? Then the Electoral College gave him the Presidency and he decided nothing was "rigged" after all. Trump, Sarah Sanders and Trump's other little toadies have already begun attacking Democrats well in advance of the 2020 election, insisting no Democrat could possibly defeat Trump without resorting to illegal tactics. In other words, if Trump loses in 2020 it will be because the election was rigged.

Emperor Trump constantly attacks the news media -- with the exception of Fox News, a.k.a. the Trump Cheerleading Channel. Trump is upset that Democrats do not want Fox hosting any Presidential debates so he's threatening to block other news channels from hosting debates. Of course he has no power to do that -- and of course he again called those channels "fake news." Trump hates those channels because they tell the truth about him and their hosts don't fawn all over him the way Fox News hosts do.
