On July 2, 2015, Kraft Foods and H.J. Heinz merged, becoming the Kraft Heinz Company. Now they are un-merging. One of the new companies will include brands such as Heinz, Philadelphia cream cheese and Kraft Mac & Cheese, The other will include slower-selling brands such as Maxwell House, Oscar Meyer, Lunchables and Capri Sun. The names of the two companies have not been announced. Shares of Kraft Heinz closed today at 26.93, a gain of 0.91 (3.5%).

Following the July 31 2025 weak jobs report by the Bureau of Labor Statistics, Trump claimed the "numbers were rigged in order to make the Republicans, and me, look bad." He fired the BLS Commissioner. Today's BLS report shows unemployment is at 4.3%, the highest since October 2021.

Donald Trump, speaking at an August 9, 2024 rally in Bozeman, Montana, declared, "Starting on day one, we will end inflation and make America affordable again, bring down the prices of all goods." Speaking to the Economic Club of New York on September 5, 2024, Trump declared, "We’re going to get gasoline below $2 a gallon, bring down the price of everything from electricity rates to groceries, airfares and housing costs." The civil judgment is Omnicare’s largest unsecured debt, though the company is challenging it.
