The Dow Jones Industrial Average closed at 8339 on 6/22/09, as the stock market rolled over on profit taking, the world bank saying the recession will be deeper, and a negative forecast from Nouriel Roubini. The Dow Jones Futures started the day weak but fell big at the open and never really recovered. The Dow also tested the 50 day moving average ( 8378 ) but failed for most of day. The next major support level is located at 8250 with the S&P 500 having support around 878-882.
Commodities were down all across the board with Oil prices falling below $67 per barrel. I would say this looks like end of the quarter profit taking. Fasten your seat belts, this could be a very volatile week as quarter end nears. Check out some of the events I will be watching for Tuesday.

Direxion Daily Financial Bear 3X Shares (FAZ)
Daily Finan. Bull 3X Shs(ETF)(FAS) - FAZ was the hot stock today, FAS was not. However, I continue to believe that our Government will not let a major institution fail and this is why I favor buying FAS on major dips. Monday afternoon, FAS is trying to get back above $8.60, a level that has provided nice support when FAS trades over it. I am sitting on my hands for now because I am looking to get long FAS below $8 for a bounce trade.
Citigroup Inc (C:NYSE) - Citigroup stock continues to hold the major support level of $3 per share. Citigroup has major resistance in the $3.20's so at this point I think it is dead money with major downside risk. If the stock can get back above $3.30 and hold, I might get interested. I will no doubt be buying a break back up through $4.
Bank of America Corp ( BAC ) - Bank of America Corporation sold off big Monday but still manages to hold support located at $12. If you are buying around $12, I would be putting a stop at around $10.99 which is close to the 50 day moving average at $11.14. If BAC stock closes below the 50 day moving average you could see a major technical break down.
Wells Fargo & Co. ( WFC ) - Shares of Wells Fargo & Company were getting hit hard on Monday as the financials sunk with the overall stock market weakness. Guy Adami on Fast Money thinks you can buy at $22 while John Najarian thinks WFC stock will break through $22 like a hot knife through butter. Najarian likes WFC at $20.
Research In Motion Ltd. (RIMM) - RIMM broke $70 on Monday, a very bearish signal. Guy Adami on Fast Money continues to think RIMM can hit $66 while Joe Terranova defends the mid $70's as fair value. $67.75 was hit Monday afternoon so we are almost to Adami's target. Technically, the stock has doesn't have support until the 200 day moving average located at $58....be careful out there!
Medarex inc. ( MEDX ) - MEDX stock exploded higher Monday after two patients at the mayo clinic has some major success with their Prostate Cancer drug. MEDX has some nice support around $8.50 but would be selling any break below this area. A break above $9.01 could set up a run toward the 52 week high at $10.12.

Dow Jones 10, 50 , 200 Day Moving Averages - Alert

The Dow Jones along with the other major stock market averages ( NASDAQ, S&P 500 ) are very weak today after Nouriel Roubini has made another bearish call on the stock market. Given how high oil prices have risen over the past three months, Roubini is predicting a significant stock market correction.

I started to get cautious last week as the Dow Jones closed below 8500 for the first time in a little while but more notably, closed back below the 10 and 200 day moving averages. This was a very bearish sign.
Today, June 22 - 2009, the Dow Jones is testing the 50 day moving average at 8379 and so far it has held. The 50 day moving average will continue to rise over the next week and if the Dow closes below this level, there is major downside risk to the stocks. The next major support level is 8250, a level the Dow Jones held on a closing basis several times on the last pullback. If this fails, I will be looking for Dow 8000.
Keep an eye on this situation!!!!!

The BDI data is critical for how the DryBulk Shipping Stocks such as DryShips Inc ( DRYS ), Excel Maritime Carriers Ltd( EXM ), Diana Shipping Inc ( DSX ), Genco Shipping & Trading Limited ( GNK ), TBS International Limited ( TBSI ), Navios Maritime ( NM ), Eagle Bulk Shipping Inc. ( EGLE ), Paragon Shipping Inc. ( PRGN ), Star Bulk Carriers Corp. ( SBLK ), and OceanFreight Inc ( OCNF ) will trade during the day. Nouriel Roubini was interviewed in Paris on June 22, 2009. The famous economist from NYU said that higher oil prices and rising interest rates will basically cause green shoots to turn brown. Roubini also says he sees a " significant market correction coming."
Nouriel Roubini Highlights - 6/22/09
- Roubini sees a W shaped double dipped recession by the end of 2010
- Oil could close out 2009 at near $100, negative shock to the economy
- Unemployment rate could hit 11% in the next several months
- The areas that should be bottoming out aren't yet; unemployment, housing, consumption and sales data, industrial production
- Financial Regulation: Less leverage, less risk, more liquidity
- The recent market rally was because in March people were discounting a near depression....now the market is pricing in a rapid V shaped recovery. There are huge downside surprise risks to come.
- I believe there will be a significant market correction for commodities, credit, and stocks.

It seems as though everyone is watching Libor rates these days. Today's Libor Rates for 6/22/09, are: 1 Month Libor Rate - 0.315%. & 3 Month Libor Rate - 0.610%. The overnight Libor rate is 0.271%. As you can see, Libor Rates have changed today, June 22, 2009. The overnight libor rate went up while the 1 & 3 month libor rates went down.

Once those flow rates come out - badda bing! Then revenue report and 11 more wells and two shale projects. They have their work cut out for them.
Nobody could buy the stock today at the bid....people were saying that so I just have to take their word for it. They also had trouble getting any at the ask...so things are looking good!
I will have one for you tonight! I better get started, the night isn't getting any younger!

I agree Bill!! I was thinking oil could easily hit 100. Unless they round up all the speculators and shoot them LOL!!
Today presented some great entry points to get in, especially on some of the shipping stocks!!!
I don't have a clue what tomorrow will bring, or the week for that matter, hard to tell on low volume, and the hedge funds being singled out.
Man this is becoming a really bad joke, I will start paying more attention to the shippers, I feel safe in that sector. :)

Pretty song! lol That was not me that said oil was going up to $100, but I agree with you and he. That was a blog that I copied and pasted. It is one that I receive every day.
Oh yah! Oil is going up up up!! Speculators are killing us again!
Now that the world is in "KAOS" (agent 99) again. You know when you stop and look at the world as a whole and all of the different power tripping countries, a person could almost come to the conclusion that we are in for things much much greater than Iraq.
It's nice of the North Koreans to share our fourth of July with us and the celebration with another missile launch!
We will have plenty of late night entertainment here in the future. I just hope that my stocks go up before then.
