Mel Karmazin
In November 2004, SIRIUS entered into a five-year agreement with Mel Karmazin to serve as its Chief Executive Officer. Mr. Karmazin receives an annual salary of $1,250,000, and annual bonuses in an amount determined each year by the Compensation Committee of SIRIUS’ board of directors.
What are chances that Mel's agreement is not renewed in NOV 09?

Like you I ended up with way more than my original investment and that I ever wanted to put in (almost 10x), but I kept averaging down as I refused to lose money on this stock. The good thing is that my patience and determination has finally paid off! Now with that being said, I am in with Cos1000's strategy to buy and sell on the dips, but only with less than half of my position. I don't think we're going to see a one day jump to where ever we end up and I want ot maximize my shares along the way. I may miss a .01-.02 jump along the way (with only part of my position) but I will not miss overall climb. Maybe it's the greed getting to me, but that's the way I see to maximize what I get out of this pig. It's the least we deserve after being thrown under the bus more than once by the company!!Quote:

John {888's}....................... back in the Baron's article days I had a good buddy in the FD with me. He was also in the Marine's......... then back in the Marine reserves after 911. He is all about duty, HONOR, and country. I've always been impressed with the Marine honor code. Without honor ........... we are only an empty shell of a man ..................... a very rare quality these days. This quality is what most impressed me about some of you guys. I mean no direspect using some of the marine terminology tho never having served. If it were up to me ...........everyone would SERVE a mandatory 1 to 2 years service For the country that has treated and protected them so well for so many generations. We have become WEAK and SELFISH as a people as a result of our lack of participation in our knowledge of what is necessary to make and KEEP our country strong. otone, no doubt the strategy is not for everyone . . . probably not most people. In the end you have to use what works best for you, and I hope yours works out best for you. It's definitely not the best for those with averages significantly higher than the current SP range - the best chance there is to add more funds if you are able to (still nothing that you cannot afford to lose of course). But I feel that we've left some of the wild volitility behind for now and have the flexibility to play this strategy. I couldn't have done it without the help and knowledge that has been provided by everyone here, so definitely a big thanks to all! :thumbsup: I'm still learning a lot (like learning to read Level 2 for example) and hope to continue to do so. And like I said, I'm only going to use half of my position for this and depending on how things work out I may change back to buy and hold. And while I've invested a great deal more than I originally intended - and I'd hate to lose any of it! - if I do lose it, it will not be the end of the world. I've lost much more in my other "safe" investments anyway!

Just curious, I have very little knowledge of how these Liberty/Sirius deals are written. But out of curiousity Is it possible that it was somehow written into the deal that if the stock performs to a certain level within a certain amount of time Sirius would get a better interest rate? Just seems so strange that there appears to be outside forces keeping this Blue dog down as much as possible. I'm not a conspiracy theorist by nature but if I had borrowed that money at 15 percent I would have said "Okay 15 percent it is but if that 40 percent of stock we are giving you blows up off the charts within a month you guys gotta cut it down to 7 percent". I know Mel said that 15 percent was as good as a deal we could get enlight of the credit markets. Just seems crazy to cough up 40 percent of stock that has since tripled (If they took posession of it at .06 once again I don't know how this works) and chalk up 15 percent on top of it.
Also could "The Shelf" be motivation for this. Do you have to wait a certain amount of time to start executing the trades for the shelf? If so wouldn't you wanna keep the dog down and then unleash it when your able to exercise your sale of stock?
I have no idea but would like to hear any opinions regarding this.

If you click on the little blue Q (looks like a nasdaq Q) at the top of a chart, it will give you access to a very nice trading tool. Its blank now but when the markets open it gives you instant recon on every move Charlie as well as us make! You can tell how many shares are being bid, whos doing the bidding and at what price...

Hi, Many people do not know this. Every American male citizen or person declaring their intent to become a citizen between 17-45 is in the unorganized militia. The exceptions are members of the armed forces on active duty or in organized reserves or national guard. Certain other people are exempt because of profession. And of course many would be disqualified if the unorganized militia was ever called up and organized. It is this law that allows for the draft when required.
All our strategic plans in the event of major conflicts use the unorganized militia strength with a suitable period for training before transition to combat. So everyone has served whether they know it or not. If we need you we know where to find you.
Its socially, culturally, and morally irresponsible to mandate a person fight for lies. If your going to ask a man to kill or be killed, youd best tell me the whole story. Otherwise, forget it. Ill decide if the cause is worth it. Therefore, I could never condone a draft.Quote:

Impaired: 3 Radio Groups Report Rev Declines

Three midsized radio groups reported declines in their fourth-quarter revenues, reflecting the effects of a steep economic downturn and a secular decline in radio ad spending.
Salem Communications, Beasley Broadcast Group and Fisher Communications all reported substantial impairment charges, reflecting the industry-wide decline in value of radio assets. The weak fourth-quarter results follow bad news from other big radio companies, including credit downgrades and threats of bankruptcy in the coming year.
Among the radio groups reporting revenues last week, Salem Communications reported the smallest percentage decline, with total revenues dropping 6.3% in the fourth quarter of 2008 compared to 2007, from $58.5 million to $54.8 million. For the full year, total revenues slipped 3.6% to $220.7 million. In the fourth quarter, Salem absorbed a $52.7 million impairment charge reflecting losses in goodwill and asset value.
Also last week, Beasley Broadcast Group said its fourth-quarter revenues fell 12.9% in 2008 compared to 2007, from $35 million to $30.5 million. For the full year, revenues slumped 9.3% from 2007-2008, from $133.9 million to $121.4 million.
Like Salem, Beasley took a big impairment charge in the fourth quarter of $62.5 million. The company also said it will cut costs by laying off 7% of its employees and cutting salaries by 5%. At Fisher Communications, which owns TV stations and a somewhat smaller portfolio of radio stations, radio revenues fell 18.3% to $6.6 million. The company also reported a $78.2 million impairment charge.
Last week, Salem was listed on Moody's "Bottom Rung," a list of companies considered to be most at risk of defaulting on their debts, along with Citadel, Cumulus, Emmis, and Radio One. This follows the near-bankruptcy of Sirius-XM, the satellite broadcaster, and repeated credit downgrades for other terrestrial broadcasters.
In late February, Standard & Poor's downgraded the credit rating of CC Media Holdings, the company formed by private-equity firms to take Clear Channel Communications private, lowering its credit rating from a B to a B-. The decision was motivated by growing concern that the holding company might not be able to keep up with payments on nearly $18 billion in debt assumed in the deal to take the company private last year.

What's everyone's take on the resistance at .20 and what is causing it. It seems like .19 has the big block buy limit orders and .20 has the big block sells ?
