Iron Butterfly organist/vocalist Doug Ingle wrote a song called In The Garden Of Eden in 1966. He was drunk and slurring his words when he sang the song to Ron Bushy so Ron could write it down. Ron thought Doug said "In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida." That became the song's title – and Iron Butterfly's biggest hit. It was the title track of their second album and was cut from 17:25 to 2:52 for release as a single, which reached #30 in October 1968. The band's other hits include Easy Rider, Soul Experience, Are You Happy, Filled With Fear and In The Time Of Our Lives.
