Apples and oranges. Difference is NO PRIVATE MONEY WAS GOING TO BAIL OUT AIG. Period. There you go. Government is you and me. If you and me want to change the rules, then its our right as taxpayers, getting the shaft EVERY TIME.

Welcome my friend...
That's a pretty cool feature that you get to assign multiple buys and sells of the same ticker. I have to do mine manually come Schedule D time. But IMHO, if I were doing it manually as I say, of course I would take it as the loss first. You still make some scratch back on the actual sale but don't need to post the gain until you've accounted for all of the $7.00 buy loss (and ouch dude). Too bad we can only write off 3K a year. Of course the wild card is if you rely heavily on your trading as income and want to show the gain for '09 for income level purposes, then you take the gain now of course. Or if you don't quite have 3K in losses for your Schedule D and want more deduction this year, then you're back to the 7.00. Dude, it just depends on what you need more given your circumstances...a gain or a loss... :juggle:
Thats funny I remember that day! I just started to buy at that time. I was gonna start with a 1000 shares then try to sell them and compound my position by buying back and adding on...that was my game plan...that day I had try to put in a order for sale and the brokers page was down online...I miss my only chance and have been adv down ever since...and today was my first day since then to not only get even but come out ahead...not to mention to get their i had to buy another 49,000 shares!
Good Luck to you:cool:
I would like one of our men to organize a party(bar in nyc).
The date is $1.00
Would be nice to see my brothers after the long war.

Maybe its finally hitting home with investors. You will be able to buy a Siriusxm radio product in a ton of places.
Yes sl62, I sold a 1/4 position at .36, I thought my .31 cent order would fill, and I looked away to type in here I rebought. When I went back it partial filled and took off. I was trying for .32 and missed it. Im below my core, and not happy about that, but I still have plenty of shares to ride up, waiting for a pullback. If one never happens, Ill still be meeting you in vegas to celebrate hitting .50 cents. That will give me almost all my money back. I will begin to daytrade this stock again soon, so Im not worried.
killerkaul I need it to go a lot higher then this. If you recall a year and a half ago we were talking about a much higher PPS. While many of you may have sold and bought back at a lower PPS I just kept buying, NEVER SOLD FOR A LOSS. So I am in the position now that I need it to get to at least .70 just to get just over 1/2 of everything I reput back in and that is if I sell it all. So really I need it to go much higher then that .70. I have not done the math to be exact (I have three brokerage accounts with 2 and 3 accounts in each and yes I have stinking SIRIXM shares in each account.) So if you think your life sucks because of SIRIXM just take a look at me, and if I can still laugh at it so can most others. So to put it bluntly killer lets talk again if it hits 3 I will be happy to go just to party.
I also will stop calling this stock a pig once it gets past .70.
Some of us bought so low, were going to do one in vegas at .50 cents. Right Killer? Sl62, cos1000, a bunch of numbers? , mogami I hope and many others I failed to mention that came from seeking alpha. WOuld I really get to see John having fun? I wouldnt believe it!!! Everyone should target that price, as it is much more obtainable, and coming soon. $1 still has a lot of hurdles. If we cant get their by Q1, might see a significant pullback after that report.
