Prior to 2016, Americans always elected Presidents who were loyal to the United States and would uphold the Constitution. We now have an Emperor who has – so far – been above the law and who lies constantly, cozies up to dictators, alienates our allies, solicits foreign help in our elections, disregards the Constitution and the Bill of Rights and surrounds himself with aides and Cabinet members who are loyal to him rather than to the United States. Our nation will not be able to survive four more years of Emperor Trump. Three hundred ninety-four days till Election Day.

Donald Trump has never in his life apologized for anything. He believes apologizing is a sign of weakness. Rather than admit he shouldn't have asked Ukraine's President to investigate one person – who just happens to be Trump's likely opponent in 2020 – Trump keeps insisting the call was "perfect" and "appropriate." Nobody believes you, Donald. What is your next strategy? "Blame somebody else!" Of course.

Emperor Trump's rage, paranoia and delusions are growing exponentially. The first whistleblower is a "spy" and a "partisan hack" who got the details of Trump's call to Zelensky "almost completely wrong" and might deserve to be executed. A second whistleblower has not yet come forward but Emperor Trump, who obviously likes to do his impeachment inquiry attacking early, claims the person is part of a "Deep State" conspiracy working to undermine his Presidency. Instead of impeachment, Congress should consider removing Trump from office by invoking Section 4 of the 25th Amendment. Trump is completely unhinged and no longer able to "discharge the powers and duties of his office."

The second whistleblower, like the first, is a member of the intelligence community. Mark Zaid is the attorney for both. In a tweet today, Andrew Zakaj, who is part of Zaid's legal team, said they're "representing multiple officials." The noose is tightening.

Donald Trump is a fighter, regardless of whether he's right or wrong. He insists he will never resign from the Presidency. A former Trump Organization vice president thinks he will. Either that, or he will "make a deal" to "save face." Time will tell.

Letters in today's Los Angeles Times:
From Alba Farfaglia of San Clemente: "The President has suggested Adam Schiff should be arrested for treason. The President has called the Ukraine whistleblower a spy and has implied that he ought to be executed. The President proposed a gator and snake-filled moat to fortify the US-Mexico border. Was he serious about that? And now, the President claims he is the one being bullied?"
From Stephen Mirkin of North Hollywood: "Trump has always given the people he competes against or dislikes insulting names. His targets normally do not come back at Trump using this tactic but try to use facts and not silly names against him. But I know a name we may soon be able to use against Trump that will make him crazy: 'Ex-President Trump.'"

A Republican Senator, one of Emperor Trump's blindly loyal supporters, tried to distract, divert and deflect by pushing a debunked conspiracy theory. Gee, the same things Emperor Trump does! He also believes Trump's lies. It figures.
NBC's Chuck Todd slams Senator Ron Johnson for pushing Fox News 'propaganda'
HuffPost, Oct 6 2019 3:46 PM
NBC's Chuck Todd interviewed Wisconsin Senator Ron Johnson about President Donald Trump's dealings with Ukraine, the center of an impeachment inquiry into the President, and things quickly got heated. During Sunday’s episode of Meet The Press, Todd asked Johnson why he said he "winced" when a US ambassador told him aid to Ukraine was contingent on an investigation into former Vice President Joe Biden, who is a frontrunner in the race for the Democratic presidential nomination.
Johnson, a member of the Senate foreign relations committee, dodged the question and instead pushed a conspiracy theory about the origins of Robert Mueller's Russia investigation. "What does this have to do with Ukraine?" Todd interrupted. "I have no idea why Fox News conspiracy propaganda is popping up here." Johnson responded by defending Trump and his supporters for being "upset" with the media. Johnson finally acknowledged that he was upset to hear military aid was being withheld until Ukraine committed to investigate Biden but, he said, "When I asked the President about that, he completely denied it."

Emperor Trump asked two foreign countries to investigate Joe Biden, his likely opponent in 2020. Trump is now insisting he cares not about politics or Biden's campaign but only about rooting out corruption. Funny thing, though: Former Trump campaign chairman Paul Manafort looted millions of dollars from Ukraine and is now in prison for tax fraud and Trump defended him. Yet, Trump wants an investigation of the Bidens, who have never been charged with any wrongdoing. Trump's I-just-want-to-root-out-corruption defense, like almost everything else he says, is a lie.

Lying, cheating and swindling are okay. Having affairs, abusing women and making hush-money payments are okay. Being involved in thousands of lawsuits is okay. Cozying up to dictators is okay. Rolling back clean-air and clean-water regulations is okay. Taking migrant children away from their parents and locking them in cages is okay. Stealing money from the military to put toward a stupid wall is okay. Violating the Constitution and his oath of office are okay. But, gosh oh golly gee, an impeachment would make Emperor Trump look bad. Break out the violins!

In an open letter to Donald Trump, political columnist and former CNN correspondent Frida Ghitis urges the man who calls himself a "great deal-maker" to negotiate his resignation from the Presidency rather than go through the disgrace of an impeachment and possible removal from office. Sondland donated $1,000,000 to Trump's Inaugural committee by writing several checks under the name of four LLCs which he controlled. Sneaky! Then Trump appointed him as an ambassador even though Sondland had no political experience. In Trumpworld, cronyism is alive and well. Sondland is one of two diplomats whose text messages revealed that Volodymyr Zelensky's invitation to the White House was dependent on Ukraine launching an investigation of Joe Biden. Sondland will testify before Congress tomorrow. Many Democrats feel Sondland, and anyone else involved in Trump's scheme to persuade foreign countries to dig up dirt on Joe Biden, should resign. Trump didn't "drain the swamp" as he promised. He merely created a much larger swamp of his own.

Today's quote: "The day Richard Nixon failed to answer that subpoena is the day he was subject to impeachment because he took away Congress' power over the impeachment process and he became the judge and jury." – House Judiciary Committee member Lindsey Graham, December 1998.
Yes, Lindsey Graham, who is now a Senator from North Carolina and the chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee, declared that a President can be impeached for ignoring subpoenas and refusing to comply with a Congressional investigation – unless the President is Emperor Trump, who is above the law and who has the help of Senate Republicans to ensure he stays above the law. And if Trump's call to Volodymyr Zelensky was "perfect" as Trump keeps insisting it was, why did so many administration members conspire to hide it from the American people? Cover-ups led to Nixon's downfall. Cover-ups may lead to Trump's downfall as well.
