To purchase apps for your iPhone, you have to go to Apple's App Store, where you'll pay a 30% fee. Does that sound like an unfair, monopolistic business practice that drives up prices? Yes, yes it does – and it might be coming to an end.
Apple's surprise defeat in the Supreme Court is bad news for Tim Cook's turnaround plan
Business Insider, May 13 2019
Apple's loss at the Supreme Court could ultimately hobble its services business. The court ruled that an antitrust case over the fees Apple charges on app sales could go forward. Those fees comprise the biggest portion of Apple's services business and a significant chunk of its total gross profit. The court's decision makes it more likely that Apple is ultimately going to have to reduce its App Store fees. Unfortunately for Apple, the App Store is a linchpin of the services business that CEO Tim Cook is betting the company's future on.

Remember when Trump promised that his huge tax cuts for banks, big corporations and the wealthiest Americans would be like "rocket fuel" in boosting our economy? He bragged about all the pay raises and new jobs the tax cuts would bring about. Let's see how that's working out:
AT&T promised 7,000 new jobs to get a corporate tax cut. It cut 23,328 jobs instead.
AT&T also cut capital spending despite promising $1 billion capital boost.

Trump's 25% tariffs on 200 billion dollars' worth of Chinese-made goods are driving up the price of steel, aluminum, clothing, shoes, toys, bicycles, motorcycles, furniture, electronics, solar panels and thousands of other products and he's considering imposing tariffs on an additional 325 billion dollars' worth of goods. Trump says China pays for these tariffs. Trump is wrong – we do.

General Motors recently eliminated 8,000 jobs and closed five North American factories. Now Ford will eliminate 7,000 jobs; 2,400 are in North America. Trump likes to brag about reports showing thousands of new jobs have been created but he never says a word about all the thousands of new jobs that are cut. It figures.

Emperor Trump's punitive tariffs and childish trade war continue to hurt American consumers. Walmart, for example, gets 26% of its goods from China and is now forced to raise prices on those products. Target, Best Buy and other retailers are also raising prices. Trump keeps telling us China, not the US, pays for those tariffs. He's wrong. He's a 骗子 and a 白痴.
