"'Vengeance is mine,' declares King Donald the First. 'I will repay.'" King Donald the First could easily issue the order, "Off with their heads!" Instead, he's apparently preparing to punish everyone who testified against him in the House impeachment investigation by firing them, demoting them or reassigning them. He views them all as unpatriotic for daring to tell the truth about him. For failing to worship, honor, protect and defend King Donald the First, they must be punished!

In an opinion piece, The Daily Beast editor in chief Rick Wilson expresses his dismay that the "utterly guilty" President was acquitted. Wilson described Trump's two lengthy rants: "King Donald the Malevolent let his rage, manias and petty vengeances out to play, bellowing like a third-world warlord in a display of political performance art that was almost unbearably grotesque in its affront to American values, the law and our collective sanity." We now have a power-mad, self-serving autocrat who is free to do whatever he wants, answerable to no one and accountable to no one. On February 5, 2020, the federal republic of the United States of America ceased to exist.
King Donald to GOP: And now – and forever – you shall be my servants
Trump's performances Thursday told the world that corruption had triumphed. He learned exactly the opposite lesson of the one Republicans imagined.

King Donald the First, the power-mad, self-serving autocrat who is above the law and above the Constitution and is free to do whatever he wants, has already starting to wreak his vengeance upon everyone who dared to testify in the House impeachment investigation. Hitler, Stalin, Lenin, Mao, Pol Pot, Idi Amin, Ho Chi Minh, Nicholas II and Kim Jong-Il would all be proud of the way King Donald the First punishes his critics.

No, Nancy Pelosi did not "break the law." Vain, pompous, egotistical, narcissistic, immature, petulant, thin-skinned King Donald the First has two choices: He can issue the royal command, "Off with her head!" or he can use his Kingly authority to make ripping a copy of a speech a federal crime, punishable by imprisonment or death.

The purge continues. King Donald the First fired Ambassador Marie Yovanovitch in May because she stood in the way of his plans to pressure Ukraine into investigating the Bidens. Today, King Donald the First fired Lt. Col. Alexander Vindman and his twin brother, Lt. Col. Yevgeny Vindman, a National Security Council attorney. Now King Donald the First has fired Gordon Sondland. Democratic Representative Mike Quigley told CNN today Senate Republicans have created an autocrat who believes he can do anything he wants. That includes firing people for telling the truth and defending the Constitution. Trump retaliates against anyone who isn't totally loyal to him. That, Quigley says, is scary. But, hey, that is what a King does.

King Donald the First has decided history should be rewritten. His impeachment should be expunged, he says, because it was a "hoax." No, King Donald, it was not a hoax. It was a legitimate Constitutional process, a means of removing a President who abuses the power of his office for personal gain. The "hoax" was perpetrated by Congressional Republicans, all of whom have sold their souls to you. By voting for your acquittal, they have ensured that you remain above the law and above the Constitution, free to do whatever you want, with no accountability to anyone. CNN editor-at-large Chris Cillizza writes that King Donald the First "did what he does best: Exacted revenge on his enemies." The "enemies" were Lt. Col. Alexander Vindman, the top Ukraine expert on the National Security Council; his twin brother, Lt. Col. Yevgeny Vindman, a senior lawyer and ethics official at the NSC; and Gordon Sondland, an Oregon hotelier who donated $1 million to Trump's inauguration committee and was appointed ambassador to the European Union. King Donald the First fired all three.
Alexander Vindman was alarmed by Trump asking a foreign leader to investigate the Bidens and reported it to his superiors. Vindman testified in the House impeachment investigation. He was "punished for telling the truth," said his attorney, David Pressman. "It cost him his job, his career and his privacy. He followed orders, he obeyed his oath and he served his country. And for that, the most powerful man in the world has decided to exact revenge." Sondland testified that everyone in the White House was "in the loop" regarding Trump's "quid pro quo" offer: the release of Ukraine's military aid in exchange for President Zelensky agreeing to dig up dirt on the Bidens.
Senator Robert Menendez denounced Trump's purge as "clear political retaliation, the likes of which is seen only in authoritarian countries around the world." He called Trump's conduct "reprehensible, yet sadly predictable." Representative Eliot Engel said the firings are "shameful": "Trump believes the only loyalty that matters is loyalty to him personally." February 5, 2020: The day America died. Long live the King!

Letter from Ramona Saenz of Alhambra in today's Los Angeles Times:
"Our nation is as divided as it's ever been. Under Trump's Presidency, partisanship has reached a toxic level and I shudder to think what will happen if he remains in office for four more years. The way I see it, Republicans share a larger blame for the current state of affairs. I recall newly inaugurated President Obama in 2009 attempting to work with Republicans in Congress. I also remember McConnell vowing to make him a 'one-term President' and urging his colleagues to obstruct everything and anything the President tried to do.
Knowing full well that Trump is guilty as sin and that the House managers proved their case, Republicans voted to acquit him, further emboldening a President with autocratic tendencies and validating his core belief that he is above the law. Democracy may not be dead yet but, as far as I'm concerned, it is in a deep coma."

Democrats, liberals and left-leaning news outlets are not alone in expressing their alarm over Trump's abuse of power, obstruction of Congress, impeachment acquittal and vindictive retaliation against those who testified against him. Millions of conservatives and many right-wing news outlets are equally alarmed. Every American should be alarmed that Senate Republicans have turned Donald Trump into an all-powerful King who is above the law and above the Constitution and can do whatever he wants, answerable to no one and accountable to no one. This is from David Rothkopf, an author, political scientist and member of the Council on Foreign Relations:
WITNESS RETALIATION PROGRAM
Friday night massacre is just the beginning for acquitted Trump
Nine months before election day, our most corrupt, unfit, demented and malevolent President has been given more power than any other human being in our history.

King Donald the First presented a Presidential Medal of Freedom to Rush Limbaugh, a hateful, racist bigot who pushed the false story that Barack Obama was born in Kenya. How did King Donald the First honor Alexander Vindman, a Lieutenant Colonel and the top Ukraine expert on the National Security Council, a patriotic American who honors his oath to protect and defend the United States of America and the Constitution? King Donald fired him. John Kirby, a CNN national security analyst, retired rear admiral and former Defense Department spokesman, contrasts Vindman's honor and character with the "pettiness" and "vengefulness" of Donald Trump:
Unlike Trump, Vindman's conduct was unimpeachable
