Sanders, like the majority of Americans, is outraged by the way Trump cozies up to Putin and refuses to believe Russia meddles in our elections. A Sanders interview will air tomorrow morning, July 22, on CBS-TV's Face The Nation.

Here is some more fodder for those who think President Trump should be impeached for treason:

In another round of idiotic tweets this morning, Trump completely ignores the FBI's findings that his former campaign adviser was colluding with the Russians. Trump also parroted his tired old mantras about the "rigged witch hunt" and "crooked Hillary Clinton." Squawk! Remember when he said he would start acting "more presidential"? We all know he will never do so.

Almost every day we learn new details of Russian spying, Russian trolling, Russian election meddling and Trump-Russia connections -- and Trump continues to denounce Mueller's investigation as "rigged," "fake news" and a "witch hunt." Trump reminds me of the 1976 film The Boy In The Plastic Bubble. He lives in his own little world, completely shut off from reality.

Trump, who tried unsuccessfully to get FBI director James Comey to halt the Trump-Russia investigation and then fired him, is now willing to be interviewed by Mueller's team provided they ask no questions about obstruction of justice. I think Trump making such a demand is, in itself, obstruction of justice. Mueller should reject Trump's proposal.

The White House transcript is missing the most explosive part of the Trump-Putin press conference
https://www.theatlantic.com/internat...script/565385/
The Atlantic broke this story seven days ago. It was the lead story tonight on Rachel Maddow's MSNBC program. A Reuters reporter had asked Putin if he wanted Trump to win the 2016 election and if he directed any of his officials to help Trump win. Putin answered yes to both questions.
The official White House transcript omits the first question: Did you want Trump to win the election? The omission gives the impression that Putin's response was about the Mueller investigation, which was not the case.
Maddow said that occasionally errors are found in White House transcripts and they are always quickly corrected -- until now.
"Did you want Trump to win the election?" "Yes, I did." Hundreds of news outlets have reported on the transcript's omission of that question. A week later, the White House still has not made a correction. The White House hasn't even tried to explain the omission.
The orange parrot hasn't even squawked his usual "fake news" and "witch hunt" mantras. Who believes him anymore?

Kissinger has had 17 meetings with Vladimir Putin and at least three meetings with Donald Trump. He probably didn't need to tell Trump to work with Putin. After all, Trump and Putin are BFFs.

Trump has cozied up to Vladimir Putin, lied, issued misleading statements, threatened witnesses, engaged in nasty smear campaigns, tried to discredit the FBI and Justice Department, contradicted the findings of our intelligence agencies, tried to persuade Jeff Sessions and James Comey to end the Russia investigation, fired Comey and hinted at Presidential pardons for any of his associates convicted of crimes. Are these the actions of an innocent man? Allow me to answer that: No.

McCaskill has been highly critical of Russia and Donald Trump so it is no surprise that Russia and Trump want her out of office. It is also no surprise that Russia will continue to meddle in our elections as long as Putin's good buddy Donald Trump is President.

We recently learned -- although it came as no surprise -- that Trump was lying when he kept insisting he knew nothing about hush-money payments being made to women he had affairs with. Trump has also been insistent that he knew nothing about his son, son-in-law and campaign manager meeting with a Russian lawyer in Trump Tower. Another lie? Very likely. One of more than 3,000 lies Trump has told since taking office. (Buzzfeed, CheatSheet, BillMoyers.com, The Daily Beast, The Washington Post, The New York Times and many other news outlets have been documenting them.)

Thank you, Rachel Maddow! This is one of the many reasons we need a free press in this country and do not need a President who denounces the press as "enemies of the American people" and purveyors of "fake news."
White House updates online transcript of Trump-Putin news conference
CBS News, Jul 28 2018 1:05 PM
The White House has updated the online transcript of President Trump's press conference with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Helsinki after MSNBC's Rachel Maddow accused the White House of editing the video and transcript to omit a question from a Reuters reporter about whether Putin wanted Trump to win in 2016. The White House had said the omission was due to a video feed switch that left out part of the question from Reuters' Jeff Mason. The transcript now reads:
Q: "President Putin, did you want President Trump to win the election? And did you direct any of your officials to help him do that?"
PRESIDENT PUTIN (As interpreted): "Yes, I did. Yes, I did. Because he talked about bringing the US-Russia relationship back to normal."
The transcript became a point of contention because of how widely Trump's performance in Helsinki was criticized, even by members of his own party. It was also a point of contention given that Trump at the news conference said he didn't see how it could have been Russia that meddled in the 2016 presidential election. Trump later said he misspoke, claiming he meant to say he didn't see how it couldn't have been Russia.

Once again the President spent his Sunday morning on Twitter, parroting his usual mantras. "No collusion"? Check. "Rigged witch hunt"? Check. "Crooked Hillary"? Check. "Illegal scam"? Well, that was a new one.

Trump continues to insist there is "no collusion" even though several members of his family, his campaign and his administration have deep connections to Russia and even though what Trump calls a "rigged witch hunt" has resulted in a large number of indictments and guilty pleas, with more to come. In a series of nasty tweets this morning, Trump parroted his tired old "hoax" and "witch hunt" mantras and called the Mueller investigation a "disgrace" and a "stain" on our country.
