Ok, unless SIRIUS goes on an acquisition spree and acquires all the internet free radio providers (which of course is not going to happen), I do not think this will go anywhere. Pandora and Slacker users will not subscribe to SIRIUS just because SIRIUS came up with a similar application unless there's no Pandora or Slacker. They are FREE (or cheaper, whatever...oh and they do not seem to care about SIRIUS premium content) PERIOD.Quote:

I have said it many times that they are the same thing in the catagory you are trying to compare them in. Common sense you dipwad is that in that catagory MUSIC, is what the people downloading the app are interested in. I have also said (and was shown by "bassmaster) that SIRIXM beats many of the compeditors in those other apps. They for instance are number one or close to it in many of the PAY services (because you are a twit and may not understand, I well explain to your dumbass. That means they are competeing with other pay services). Are you that much of a dumbass that you dont even know what a CATAGORY is or what it means. GO GET A DICTIONARY.

Ok Sparky....let me explain something to you that you can't seem to grasp. If Sirius offered such an addition to their app(and I believe they are working on it)....it would MOST definitely INCREASE the number of downloads of their iphone app.
I don't know if you are young, or if you are an Apple user(i doubt it tho).....but I am. And I am also very much in the marketing/advertising world, so I know a thing or two about what I am saying.
The Apple phenom is real. The iphone phenom is real. The itunes App store is real. People all over the world are loading up their iphones with apps CONSTANTLY. Especially FREE apps. So much so that Apple is about to change it's requirements to be listed on their most DOWNLOADED list because it skews to the free and is unfair to the apps that charge.
Anyway...the point is this mostly young crowd(which I am a member of) are very HIP to what is hot and also download ANYTHING and EVERYTHING that is free.
I seriously question your marketing background if you don't think for a minute that Sirius offering a free pandora/slacker like service to their iphone app wouldn't instantly bump it's downloads.
If you do, you're delusional. It most certainly would. And it makes great business sense for Sirius to do this. We are talking about MILLIONS of more downloads over time. Free is free. And it would bring people into the Sirius tent. Wether they upgrade or not, it would bring more people in. THAT my ignorant marketing friend is a FACT. LOL.
Seriously. From that bigger tent, Sirius could do ALL sorts of marketing and targeting of it's expanding captive audience. To say it couldn't would be further proof of your ignorance and lack of marketing acumen.

Well heres the difference SiriusOwner. Try to think ahead for a moment. Right now, Pandora and Slacker and other internet radio stations are being squeezed by higher royalty fees to the tune of 25% of their revenue. Pandora has already increased the number of commercials it plays now and is charging for people who listen too much. And it's only going to get worse.Quote:

When Sirius adds this feature to their iphone app....it will be HUGE. Think about it. They, unlike Pandora or Slacker is generating real money. Yes, they have debt, but cash flow is improving, and they unlike Pandora and it's ilk HAVE a working business model.
You say Pandora users are content. But what happens as the squeeze of the 25% and lack of advertising dollars gets tighter? Hmm? Yup...MORE commercial interruptions and higher monthly fees. They already announced this! And it's only going to get worse.
Don't you think that many Pandora users will eventually become annoyed and seek out other "Free" music apps.
Even the ones who are "happy" now are a tech savy hip crowd. They'll be downloading and trying out ANY new free music app that comes down the road.
And what I am saying....is that Sirius is in the best position of ANY company to take advantage of that. They've got the huge pay revenue stream boosted by the incredible auto penetration and unique content they provide.
Ok...now listen closely. They don't CHANGE that model. They only add this FREE feature to their iphone/internet app. Bingo, they have a new source of millions of potential new subscribers who they can target.
People could download the app. Perhaps it comes with a free trial for their "paid" content...and of course the new "free" create your own station like Pandora feature. At a certain point, the free trial for the paid content would end....leaving the Pandora like feature which then Sirius can use to KEEP them listening. They can target advertising for Sirius paid content based on their listening. For example. Lets say someone creates alot of stations with a certain genre or artist. If Sirius is going to have a LIVE concert for that artist coming up, they can insert that into the commercial stream.
The possibilities are endless. Sirius would have the best of both worlds. Many people would upgrade. Many wouldn't. But their downloads would increase. Their tent of listeners would increase. It's a numbers game people. The more eyes and ears you get....the better.
I could go on and on....I guess the people that just don't get it by now will never get it. Maybe it'll hit you like a lightning bolt and make sense to you later on. I dunno. Lol.

Mind you he not only changed it slightly the dumbass did an almost 180 and then trys to tell you, you were wrong SIRIXM will get extra subs out of this.
Siriusowner, I have to ask you did you or anyone ever say that SIRIXM would not get any subs if they did any kind of improvement. I think the arguement started because that twit said something like, SIRIXM would be #1 if they did it.
I know this tactic well, it is the same kind of tactic Brandon from SW uses.
