In a phone call on January 2, 2021, Donald Trump pressured Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger to "find 11,780 votes," just enough to overturn Joe Biden's victory. "We won the state," Trump declared. Uh, no, Donald. You lost. On January 3, Amy Gardner of The Washington Post reported the phone call. Trump denied making such a call. Two days later, the Post released the audio and published the transcript. Delusional Donald then denounced the story as a "hoax." On May 2, 2022, a grand jury was impaneled to investigate Trump's attempts to overturn Georgia's election results. Among the potential criminal charges: conspiracy to commit election fraud and criminal solicitation to commit election fraud. And then there is that little matter of the fake electors.......

A group of conservatives, including prominent lawyers and retired federal judges, issued a 72-page report today categorically rebutting each of the claims made in court by former President Donald Trump and his supporters over the 2020 election results. The report, "LOST, NOT STOLEN: The Conservative Case that Trump Lost and Biden Won the 2020 Presidential Election," looked at more than 60 court cases Trump and his supporters filed and lost in six key battleground states. It reached the "unequivocal" conclusion that the former Republican President's claims were unsupportable – which Trump's own Department of Homeland Security as well as election officials nationwide debunked days after the 2020 election.

"There is absolutely no evidence of fraud in the 2020 Presidential election on the magnitude necessary to shift the result in any state, let alone the nation as a whole. In fact, there was no fraud that changed the outcome in even a single precinct," the report says.

"I have notified CNN of my intent to file a lawsuit over their repeated defamatory statements against me," Trump's statement said. "I will also be commencing actions against other media outlets who have defamed me and defrauded the public regarding the overwhelming evidence of fraud throughout the 2020 election."

A federal judge in Georgia denied Senator Lindsey Graham's bid to avoid testifying before a grand jury investigating interference in the 2020 election, rejecting the Trump ally's claim that he was shielded from such scrutiny by legislative privilege. US District Judge Leigh Martin May ruled that Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis had "shown extraordinary circumstances and a special need for Graham’s testimony on issues relating to alleged attempts to influence or disrupt the lawful administration of Georgia’s 2020 elections."

The judge's ruling preceded another piece of bad news for key allies of former President Donald Trump: Georgia prosecutors have notified lawyers representing Rudy Giuliani that the personal attorney to Donald Trump is now a target of the widening election interference investigation.

Giuliani led Trump's legal team challenging the results of the 2020 Presidential election. They spread Trump's Big Lie that the election was rigged and stolen. They made baseless claims of voter fraud, dead people casting ballots and voting machines changing votes from Trump to Biden. They filed – and lost – 63 lawsuits. Giuliani was subpoenaed to testify before a grand jury in Fulton County because he made statements at legislative hearings in Georgia falsely claiming there had been "widespread voter fraud" in the state.

The former New York Mayor and Trump attorney left the Fulton County courthouse without commenting to reporters. Giuliani's questioning took place behind closed doors, as grand jury proceedings are secret. Though secrecy rules prohibit people present during grand jury testimony from discussing it, that prohibition does not apply to witnesses, but Giuliani said he didn't plan to talk about his testimony.
