I am not for one second suggesting at all that Sirius launches sats in Europe. SXM17 looks to be based on bringing on demand content and customized music through the internet and combining it with Sat radio in the car in the US. Why not just bring the internet portion of SXM17 overseas? All the cars will eventually have embedded modems. US and Foreign.
I don't follow Apple, and I don't invest in what I don't follow. That's where my S&P 500 index money goes. Not a gambler. Just posting the question has made me think Disney again. I am so positive on Star Wars in December. That's what I use the boards for........Thinking out loud.
If they can do that it would be a game changer for sure. Like I said, I'm no technology expert so I don't know. I guess I'm just assuming they will need more Sats to do that. Otherwise, if it can all be done over the internet then sats aren't needed at all going forward. Now...if they can leverage off of their existing sats over North America, like I said...that's a game changer for them!
I know. I guess my humor falls on deaf eyes. I've been in the IT business for a long time and I haven't heard the term "modem" used in quite a while. It took me back to the days when I was programming on an Apple II 48K memory and a 300 baud modem. As years passed by, I would login into Compuserve, Imagination Network, and AOL with a dial-up modem. I was just having some fun. Good stuff!
I agree. Let me ask you something. For SXM17 to work, what needs to happen in the vehicle?
Also, did you happen to see this news:
AT&T Taps Former Sirius XM, Cisco Exec as Video and Internet CTO
It wouldn't surprise me if this guy tells Randall to buy Sirius XM. Sirius XM would be chimp change. :)
I did not like Tinkers report in Barrons yesterday. $6.55 in 2019? WTF - 4 years away. And the numbers didn't make sense. He compounded 1.7 billion in EBITDA at a 10% annual growth rate (way too low) to $2.3 billion in 2019??? With 10% I get close to $2.5 billion in 2019. Closing in on $2.3 bil in 2018. 36 million subs in 2019 way too low. Numbers make no sense to me. The only thing I liked was the $4.75 2016 target.
He lowballed everything.......
