All I can say, Bernie, is: Good luck with that!
Sanders: First coronavirus priority is to 'shut this President up'
Yahoo News, Mar 15 2020 9:08 PM
Bernie Sanders said during tonight's Democratic presidential debate that his first priority in the fight against coronavirus is to rebut any misinformation coming from President Trump. "The first thing we've got to do, whether or not I'm President, is to shut this President up right now," Sanders said from CNN's studios in Washington, DC. "Because he is undermining the doctors and the scientists who are trying to help the American people. it is unacceptable for him to be blabbering with unfactual information which is confusing the general public."

And one Republican is preventing the bill from being sent to the Senate for a vote. We will remember this when he's up for re-election.

Letter from Roger Johnson of San Clemente in today's Los Angeles Times:
"President Trump calls the pandemic a 'Chinese virus.' He continues his habit of insulting others and shifting blame away from himself. Let's put the blame where it belongs and start calling this the 'Trump virus.' After all, it was Trump who in 2017 disbanded the White House office responsible for pandemic response. When the 'Trump virus' broke out, he initially ridiculed it and called the concern over a possible pandemic a 'hoax.' Well into this year, he refused to do anything. The do-nothing President may be more responsible than anyone for the pandemic that is now crippling the country."
I agree! And King Donald the First declared last month that the virus was "contained." Welcome to Trumpworld, the land of delusions.

Today I needed a few groceries such as milk, bread and lettuce. I still need them. I went to our local supermarket. Only one of the two entrances was open and there were two security guards there. They were limiting the number of shoppers who could be in the store at any one time. As one shopper exited, they would let another shopper enter. There were around 40 people lined up outside waiting to get in. Muttering a few words which I don't want to repeat here, I returned home. I'm guessing almost every supermarket in the United States now has this same idiotic policy. This is what is called a "self-fulfilling prophecy": People fear a food shortage so they all go to the markets to stock up – and, in doing so, they create a food shortage. It's truly insane.
The worldwide death toll from the COVID-19 virus is now 11,383. That includes 4,032 in Italy, 3,255 in China, 1,433 in Iran, 1,093 in Spain, 450 in France, 256 in the US, 177 in the UK and 106 in the Netherlands. It's nice to see that New Yorkers know where their priorities lie:

King Donald the First, same as all the world dictators who have preceded him, does not believe in freedom of the press. He makes an exception for Fox News, a.k.a. the Trump Cheerleading Channel, but he denounces all other news outlets as "fake" and "the enemy of the American people." Yesterday, King Donald called the Washington Post, New York Times and Wall Street Journal "dishonest." Today, he called an NBC reporter "dishonest" and "terrible." You don't need to say those things, King Donald. Just issue a royal decree: "Off with their heads!"

King Donald the First claims to know more about ISIS than our generals do, more about Russian election meddling than our intelligence agencies do, more about climate change than our scientists do – he calls it a "hoax" – and more about the coronavirus than our medical experts do. In January, Intelligence officials warned King Donald of the fast-spreading virus and he ignored them. He and Hogan Gidley, one of his blindly loyal lapdogs, now have to attempt damage control. They're insisting King Donald is protecting the "health, wealth and safety of the American people" – which is not true – and they're also continuing to attack the news media and what they call the "sham illegitimate impeachment." Meanwhile, the death toll has reached 11,417 worldwide and 275 in the United States.
