Bill
where can you find a stock with a 52 wk high of 119, now trading at 4 that is highly profitable, still considered the class of its sector, and trading with a P/E of .17? DRYS will make you a boatload of cash over the next 4 - 10 years when the next world economic boom takes place.
The Big O is really screwing us up for the future!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! But I think that the rest of the world will eventually figure this out and they will go about there business without us. DRYS will again be the leader of the dry bulk shipping industry. However, all of the other dry bulk carriers, if they survive this crisis, will explode also. NM, DSX are a couple of others!
I will be putting my IRA contributions into DRYS and begin loading up on it for my retirement!
have a great day!
You are right! That is why I am pounding money into SBLK. (DRYS) is the greatest stock on planet Earth in my opinion.
I want to start buying a bunch of it also.....EGLE is a extreme barnburner (Kansas Talk).
BO is screwing up the United States so bad that I am astonished. I cannot believe that all of the people here are falling for socialism. He is ruining us right out of the gate. Big government, spending like a drunken sailor. It is Obamahood .....take from productive people and give to those that have never done a thing. The welfare state is back. It is a disgrace.
People that have invested in their future by going to college and graduate school, working hard, paying off student loans and being productive are going to get burned. Doctors, lawyers, businessmen etc... It is just terrible and he doesn't give a damn about Wall Street succeeding, because he is going to run the show with our money and take care of us. George Orwell wasn't a fool, he was just a few years early.
Have a great night, buddy, and thanks for chiming in.
Bill
Hey Billy, keep one eye on the BDI when you play DRYS, see if you can pick up the correlation between the two.
Oh, I cooked up a 10 trillion dollar pork roast for all of us too!!! :)
I would offer you some pork Bill, but you eat veggies now!!!! lol
Have a good one guys!!! Oh, and if anyone bought WFC last Friday, and enjoyed the ride up this week, except for Friday, hope you took your profits!!! :) Yes Bill, Wisconsin/Fried/Chicken/LOL!!!
No luck on the second job yet, really doesn't break my heart yet!!!
Good to see shorts covering on SIRI!!! Love the chart coming alive on this turd!!!
TIP: Keep an eye on oil as far as cyclicals are concerned.
If demand destruction continues then look out!!!
Good luck guys!!! And be well!!
Hey Dread, Good to hear from you...
You havent miss very much.... But maybe Sirius will start picking up steam!
Anyway Take it easy....Tony:cool:
ABK AIB AIG C DRYS ESLR ETFC F GCHK LVLT SBLK SIRI Going Long!
Whats up Bill! I going to Atlantic City to hang for the night with a few people.. Trying to keep away from the computer a little..Getting some things down around the house!
I will talk at you later!
Hey Dread!
I will check out BDI.
Glad to see you back here!
There is a whole bunch of pork around these days...good thing they included a few million for the prevention of Swine smell in the package.
The shorters covered on Friday and drove the price up on SIRI, but I think it was due to the neww coming out and don't want to get caught. There is nothing preventing them from getting back in except good news for SIRI investors. They are just going sidelines right now. We shall see.
Specifically which oil stocks are you speaking of? I would love to check them out.
Have a groovy day, comrade,
Bill
Hey Tony,
First of all....HAPPY BIRTHDAY!
Sounds cool going up to Atlantic City.....Are you going to throw a few bones? I love to shoot craps...it is my favorite game. I don't know why, but when I am shooting craps I love to drink 7/7's. That is the only time in my life that I drink those. I don't drink them anymore though, because I don't eat refined sugar or high fructose corn syrup. But that was my drink when rolling the bones.
Then when I play blackjack I love to drink White Russians.....I don't know why, because I never drink them at any other time. It is all psychological I guess. It's all those superstitions that I have with gambling.
I hear you about getting things done around the house. I have been putting way too much time in on the computer during the trading day. I am not putting anymore money in my account for a while (I hope) and that will keep me out of there for a few days. I will dive in and out, but not be there for 8 hours. I have to finish my bathroom. I have drywall, tile, plumbing, electrical, texturing painting, new tub, new toilet, new vanity and steam shower to put in....plenty to do.
I am getting requests for tile work here the last couple of days....One from OMeara Ford (a car dealership) and some bathroom remodels...so maybe I will hook up with some of those.
Anyway, I hope you have a really fun time in Atlantic City and say hello to Trump for me while you are up there! lol Catch ya when you get back.
Bill
There is a really good site somebody might have missed. http://www.tradingmarkets.com
If you get time, check it out. ;)
bill bill bill, is there anwhere i can go where i dont have to read about obama making the country socialist, do me a favor bill dont walk on the sidewlks, dont drive on our highways, dont send ur kids to school, dont call the fire department or the police dept when ever your in trouble, all these things came about through socialist ideals, oh yeah and dont accept any social security or medicaid any of that. Bill i dont know if u have noticed, but americas
middle class is dying, if we dont have a healthy middle class in thisa xountry then we are screwed. We need to stop this cycle of the rich getting richer and the poor getting poorer. Did business do bad under clinton? Thats all were doing is going back to that tax code. how does that = class warfare or a welfare state, Bill if we dont do something now to keep our middle class alive then we will be a nation of lords and serf's.
Im tired of people criticizing but not offering solutions, thats all the repubs have been doing lately, they have no answers, no solutions to fix or healthcare or economy, they only have their ability to disagree and shoot some1 elses ideas down, as well as their ability to make a bunch of people who hang on their words really angry the repubs had 8 years to do something, they didnt do shit but make life harder for any1 who isnt banking it, and im sorry to say just because you just got out of high school and went to work at mcd's for jack shit an hour does that make u a loser not entitled to any benefits? Oh okay but rich people who have plenty of money they deserve all the benefits, hey bill go look up how many people actually get rich without their already rich parents helping them, its very rare. The rich stay rich, the poor get poorer, thats the reality of our situation, and there is no room for a middle class the way you guys think.
happy birthday tony! was it yesterday?
good ole buffet giving us a nice update, good read

whitehouse fiscal responsibility summit
very interesting as obama did something bush never di hes letting the repubs inside the think tank, anyway just watch that video, i prefer to watch things live and get the info myself rather than have everything reported tome second hand, thats why i love cspan, fox msnbc all them always spin things.
http://www.c-spanarchives.org/librar...art=&clipStop=
heres like part 2 of the summit
he takes questions from repubs and dems
I love CSPAN also....I watch it a lot. I like the political happenings without somebody telling me what they just said and then make my own determinations. I watched parts of that summit live in between doing other things.
As you all ready know, I am very independent about stock opinions, primarily because I am a contrarian / momentum investor. When the big guys are screaming "Sell", that is when I tune in, look and see if it is a good buy for me. I know that you are the same way. I am too small to follow institutional buying methods and timing. We all are here.
I screw up though. I still have that damn 30 shares of AIB hanging in the air at 2.77? LOL It will just have to sit there for a while. One weekend between buying that and waiting for Monday to buy another 70 shares got lost in the wind when AIB started dropping like a rock and didn't quit. Then AIB was Nationalized with the country's pension fund and it has been teetering ever since. As you well know, it used to parallel the U.S. markets quite closely. Until this market takes off some I expect nothing out of it and like Newman says, they usually take a couple of months to catch back up with us. So....nothing to worry about there.
I have a couple of hundred shares of ABK still sitting there at 1.34 and now it is down to .61. That is another just leave it there for a while. Mortgage and business insurers aren't getting much of a hand at this time. The government wants to re-work those toxic assets but haven't decided how to handle it yet, so ABK is in limbo......I am not worried about that one either.
Other than that everything is just swell. I haven't lost anything on those, but will just have to wait for a while until I can touch them again.
All in all, things are pretty good considering the shape of our Market at the time.
I am going to get further into the Baltic Drys Index.....It is pretty wild to look at, especially when you get into the detailed aspects of it. I am in a learning curve with it. Maybe tonight I will re-approach it. Having to go to bed every night sure puts a dent into things....haha
yea i got lucky and sold off everything, aib at 3.19 for a loss bac for a slight gain at 6 soemthing and a few other things for very small losses, at the time i was hating selling cause i figured they would go up, but i weanted to go all in with siri as i felt it was the best risk/reward stock out there, i know lots of people who will disagree, but anyway selling was a god send cause im actually up right now as oppossed to down where i would be if i held, i figure diversification can be just as bad as good, how many good picks can u actually get. anyway i will probaly reinvest in lvlt and bac, once i get some funds clear. i want to make sure i get them at their actual lows, i think aib and lvlt are there, 2-4 for bac will work out. You will be alright bill but if u want to get soem gains your going to have to take a longer term aproach with aib, bac might not take so long. When bac hit 2 somethin o man i wish i had money to buy then, lvlt too cause i think thats popping right now.
What do you think they are ACTUALLY going to do with Citigroup? I kind of get the feeling that they are floating the company while they break it down into smaller chunks. It is too big to fund for a while and dismantle.
The stock took a bath in dilution last week. Last I looked, it traded about 1 billion 800 million shares in one day. I know the government took preferred stock and converted it into common.
I am just curious if there is anything to reap out of this? Any ideas, other than a tax write-off? (I currently don't own any).
I really dunno man i would just watch it close and if this feels like a bottom and its starting to show strength jump in. Bac is something you can do that with, it seems easy to spot its up trends and down trends. I did not think citi would be this low in the first place, is it gonna act like bac did when it hit the 2 dollar range and pop up like a rocket and the fizzle back down or is it going to act like aib, i dunno man its a gamble.
