Nope, I think your wrong...
If asteroids hit the satellites...... not only would they go Bk, but all my Sirius and XM radios would go dead and I wouldn't even be able to sell them on Ebay.
GM everyone.
My first post here on this great forum.
My position: Long on Sirius.
Started at $3.30 levels and still buying at 0.12 levels.
Current position: 16000 shares $1.65
I'm a big believer in Sirius as a product and a company and I believe we'll NOT lose any money unless the management has some sinister plans.
As for what is worse, I think it is already over once we put in a lot of our hard earned money in this stock. losing a couple thousand more than what we have lost so far is no big deal. the upside is enormous and that is what is keeping me in this stock...
good luck to all
The Motley Fool keeps at it....

2009 Chevrolet Traverse
The good:
XM NavTraffic in the 2009 Chevrolet Traverse pops up traffic alerts even when you aren't under route guidance. The Bose audio system produces impressive sound quality.
"One of the most useful features adopted by GM for the 2009 Chevrolet Traverse is traffic reporting integrated with the navigation system. We saw a version of this system in last year's Cadillac CTS, but this is the first time we've seen it in a Chevrolet. The system gets traffic data from XM's satellite radio network and feeds it into the navigation system, showing traffic flow on major roads, along with incidents that might cause congestion, such as accidents and road construction."
OK. This is the first time that I have posted on this site, although I have been reading the board for quite some time. I actually jumped back in and purchased another 100,000 shares today which takes me just about 330,000 shares in total. As much as I hate to admit it. I have now cost averaged down to .73 per share.
I am a strong believer in Sirius and believe that if this stock can make it through the year, we could see a significant possible upside.
welcome to the boards viper
Welcome GTSviper! If this investment works out I'm going to buy me a gts viper!! Blue with white stripes
Asteroids hitting the satellites...is there anything else you would like to think of that could happen or do you have it all out of your system now... but being that you brought it up what are the actuall chances if any of that happening?
There is a contingency plan for Sirius to function on two satellies until they can get the ground spare up in the sky. I understand the service wouild be degraded but would work atleast most of the time
XM is in better shape since they have "Rock" and "Roll" as spares in space.
The financial costs, of course, could push Sirius XM over the edge and into bK
SIRI closed green for 3 days in a row!
This will be the first time SIRI closed green 3 days in a row since last September...
SIRI closed up 5.564% @ .1385 on decent volume of 56.4 million shares traded...
what would u guys consider huge volume?
not todays it was up but I would not consider it huge vol till it passed 75mil at least
At this price, huge would be 500,000,000 shares. 56 million at this price level is a joke.
Wow, Stang and I both said 75 million at about the same time.....
Why not ? They should insure them. I am sure AIG can insure them, they can insure just about anything, including CDO's, MBS's, Satellites... LOL.
ps: Not insuring this asset makes it a liability, what if it comes down to earth and it hits your home in California ?.
