The World Wildlife Fund estimates there are between 22,000 and 31,000 polar bears in the world. Around two-thirds of them are in Canada. Experts say rising temperatures, melting sea ice and decreased food supplies will cause the polar bear population to decline by one-third by 2050 – and all the polar bears could be gone by 2100.
