President Donald Trump today released a lie-packed video on Facebook falsely claiming there was massive "fraud" in last month’s election, which he lost by nearly seven million votes to Democrat Joe Biden. "Like other authoritarians, Trump is unable to admit defeat and in fact always doubles down on his propaganda points, hoping to save face with his followers," said Ruth Ben-Ghiat, an authoritarianism expert at New York University.
The 46-minute, 8-second video, shot in the White House, recycled a host of debunked claims that together paint a global conspiracy designed to make him lose his reelection bid. Trump touched on nearly every absurd conspiracy theory trotted out by his supporters and lawyers in the weeks following the election, including claims of fake ballots, a computer system that could flip votes from Trump to Biden at the touch of a button, and ballots that were counted – inexplicably – overseas.

Only 26 of 249 Republicans in Congress are willing to admit Joe Biden won the presidential election, a survey found today. The election was called for Biden on November 7, four days after election day. The Democrat won the electoral college by 306-232 and leads in the popular vote by more than 7 million ballots. But Trump has refused to concede, baselessly claiming large-scale voter fraud in battleground states.
The survey of Republicans in the House and Senate was carried out by the Washington Post, a paper Trump promptly claimed to read "as little as possible." The President also said he was "surprised so many" in his party thought he had been beaten. He , promised "we have just begun to fight." Two congressmen, Mo Brooks of Georgia and Paul Gosar of Arizona, told the Post Trump won. Gosar said he would never accept Biden as President, telling the paper there was "too much evidence of fraud."

President Donald Trump campaigned today in Valdosta, Georgia, for two Republican Senators at a rally that some in his party fear could end up hurting, not helping, their chances by focusing on his efforts to reverse his own election defeat. In his first rally appearance since he lost to Democrat Joe Biden in the November 3 Presidential contest, Trump reminded the chanting crowd that he came to southern Georgia to persuade them to vote Republican in runoffs on January 5 – but he quickly turned to his repeated claims, made without evidence, of widespread fraud in the presidential election. "They cheated and rigged our Presidential election but we'll still win it. And they are going to try to rig this election too," Trump told the crowd in Valdosta, who chanted "We love you!" and "Four more years!"

Judges today rejected bids led by an ally of President Donald Trump to decertify President-elect Joe Biden’s victories in Michigan and Georgia because of unsubstantiated election irregularities and to have Trump declared the winner in both states, the latest failed efforts to upend the election results. Both lawsuits were filed November 25 by Sidney Powell, a former lawyer for the Trump campaign, on behalf of groups of Republican voters. Trump and his allies have lost numerous cases aimed at overturning election results in states Trump lost in the November 3 election after winning them in 2016, making unfounded claims of fraud.

The Supreme Court just denied the Republicans' attempt to stop Pennsylvania from certifying its election results. Biden won the state by 81,000 votes.
I just saw that on CNN. Gloria Borger declared, "It's a crushing defeat for the President." What a ridiculous thing to say! Trump lost the election! He and his lawyers should have known from the beginning that they would never be able to overturn the results of the election. They filed dozens of lawsuits and made dozens of allegations of voter fraud – with zero evidence. CNN White House correspondent Jim Acosta predicts that Trump and the Republicans will continue fighting until Inauguration Day. Let me repeat: Trump lost the election. Acosta also said he expects Trump will run in 2024, claiming to be a "victim" who was "cheated out of a second term."
Maybe Trump will be in prison by then.
