That is correct. The election was not "rigged," as Trump continues to insist – but how sad that 50% of Republicans actually agree with him.

Do they really believe the election was rigged or are they just saying it because Trump says it and they believe everything he says? The election was not rigged.

Today the deranged, demented, delusional tweeter-in-chief declared, "I WON THE ELECTION. VOTER FRAUD ALL OVER THE COUNTRY!" As usual, he presented no evidence. There is no evidence. There was no voter fraud. The 25th Amendment allows the Vice President to declare the President "unable to discharge the powers and duties of his office" and then temporarily replace him as President. I think it is time for Pence to exercise that option – but of course he won't. He wouldn't dare be disloyal to Trump.

Trump is now trying to persuade Republican legislators in Michigan and Pennsylvania to intervene. Translation: interfere in the election. Trump's lawyers believe the Constitution gives those states' Republican legislatures the power to appoint their own electors who will vote for Trump and override the will of the voters. Trump is growing increasingly desperate. His galaxy-sized ego will not allow him to accept the truth: he lost the election.

"'Vengeance is mine,' saith Donald Trump. 'I will repay.'" By the way, judges in Arizona, Georgia and Pennsylvania have rejected the election-related lawsuits brought by Republicans and the Trump campaign. The recount in Georgia shows Biden beat Trump by 12,284 votes.

Former New Jersey Governor Chris Christie called Trump's legal team a "national embarrassment." US District Judge Matthew Brann denounced Trump's legal team for presenting "strained legal arguments without merit and speculative accusations unsupported by evidence." The New York Times said Trump's legal team is "engaged in a spectacle that would be funny if it weren't so dangerous and if the stakes weren't so high." Many members of Trump's legal team, including Brett Johnson, Eric Spencer, Ronald Hicks, Carolyn McGee, Linda Kerns, John Scott and Douglas Bryan Hughes, have quit because they are so outraged at Trump's attempts to overturn the results of the Presidential election (which he lost by 6,026,163 votes) and his refusal to concede.

Trump says for first time he'll leave office if Electoral College votes for Biden
CNN, Nov 26 20920 9:13 PM ET
President Donald Trump said today for the first time he will leave office if the Electoral College votes for President-elect Joe Biden but made clear he's not prepared to concede. "Certainly I will, and you know that," Trump said when asked by a reporter about leaving the White House if Biden is declared the winner on December 14. "It's going to be a very hard thing to concede because we know there was massive fraud. As to whether or not we can get this apparatus moving quickly – because time isn't on our side, everything else is on our side, facts are on our side, this was a massive fraud."
Trump falsely added that if Biden is declared the winner, the Electoral College "made a mistake because this election was a fraud." Pressed on his comments, Trump snapped at the reporter, "Don't talk to me that way. I'm the President of the United States. Don't ever talk to the President that way."

Delusional Donald's galaxy-sized ego will never allow him to admit he lost the election. To explain losing the popular vote in 2016, he declared – with zero evidence – that as many as five million illegal votes were cast. Presumably every one of those five million illegal votes was for Hillary Clinton. To explain this year's loss, he has spewed continuous accusations – again, with zero evidence – of widespread voter fraud. He just refuses to believe that not everyone loves him as much as he loves himself.

"Words matter, Cillizza writes, "especially when uttered by the President of the United States." What is very sad and very alarming is that there are millions of blindly loyal Trump supporters who believe everything he says.
This conservative outlet just crushed Donald Trump's election claims
Chris Cillizza, CNN, Nov 30 2020 7:22 PM ET
When you think of conservatism in America, you think of the National Review. Founded in 1955 by William F. Buckley Jr., the publication has been a bulwark of conservative thought for almost the entirety of one Donald Trump's life – which is why an editorial that was published today is worth paying attention to. Headlined "Trump's Disgraceful Endgame," it amounts to an absolute takedown of the President's fanciful and false claims that the 2020 election was somehow stolen from him: "The chief driver of the post-election contention of the past several weeks is the petulant refusal of one man to accept the verdict of the American people."
This is 100% accurate. What Trump has been tweeting – and, on Sunday, talking about with Fox's Maria Bartiromo – about alleged election violations has been debunked in full. He is peddling falsehoods solely because he can't accept losing. As the National Review editorial argues, there are real and dangerous consequences to this deluge of dishonesty: "Flawed and dishonest assertions like this pollute the public discourse and mislead good people who make the mistake of believing things said by the President of the United States."

In the early 1950s, Republican Senator Joseph McCarthy accused hundreds of actors, professors, Army men, government workers and others of being Communists. For four years, the majority of his fellow Republicans remained silent about his accusations and smear tactics. In 2020, Republican President Donald Trump lost the Presidential election but insists he won. He has made countless allegations of a rigged election, massive fraud, fake ballots, dead people voting and the FBI and the DOJ conspiring against him. The majority of his fellow Republicans remain silent. The Republican party now exists in name only. It is a cult, the Donald Trump party, and its blindly loyal members don't dare denounce their cult leader. They have no shame and no decency. The Senate eventually censured McCarthy – but Senate Republicans will never censure Trump. Never.

Attorney General William Barr, a Trump loyalist, told the Associated Press today that the FBI and DHS found no evidence of widespread, systemic voter fraud. Trump's legal team immediately began attacking Barr. There is widespread voter fraud, they continue to insist, but Barr refused to thoroughly investigate it. Yeah, sure. Uh-huh. Demented, deranged, delusional Donald and his sycophants still refuse to accept that Trump lost the election.
How one Trump-loving governor totally shut down the President's voter fraud claims
Chris Cillizza, CNN, Dec 1 2020 10:57 AM ET
In the month since the Presidential election, President Donald Trump has repeatedly argued that Arizona's vote was somehow fraudulent because, uh, he lost. "Such total corruption," Trump tweeted today as the state's Republican governor, Doug Ducey, certified President-elect Joe Biden's narrow win in the state. "So sad for our country!" Ducey decided to fight back – and he used Trump's favorite medium to do it. In a nine-tweet thread on Twitter, the Arizona governor laid out – in clear terms – Arizona's election laws, asserted that those rules were followed and affirmed his faith in the result. (Biden won the state by more than 10,000 votes.)
