I wrote above RyanAir, United and Southwest raising, or adding, fees. When one airline increases its fees, it seems they all do. JetBlue now charges $30 for the first carry-on bag, $40 for a second bag and $150 for a third. Anyone bringing a fourth bag on board would probably have to take out a bank loan!

German immigrant Frederick August Otto Schwarz opened his first toy store in 1862 in Baltimore. Eventually there were 42 FAO Schwarz stores throughout the United States. By 2015, they had all gone out of business -- but a new FAO Schwarz will open in Manhattan in November 2018..
The world's most iconic toy store is reopening
Business Insider, Aug 28 2018
Iconic toy brand FAO Schwarz is opening a store in Rockefeller Plaza in time for holiday shopping this year. The brand was known for its famous flagship store on 5th Avenue which closed in 2015. The new store is being developed by Threesixty Group, a product developer and distributor, which purchased the brand from Toys Я Us in 2016. The brand is also looking to open a smaller location in LaGuardia Airport this year.

Moxie, originally a nerve tonic, was introduced in 1876. Eight years later, Moxie became a carbonated beverage. The name comes from an Abenaki word for "water." Moxie is flavored with gentian root extract and is bitter -- very bitter. I tried Moxie only one time and that was one time too many. A lot of people like it, though.

Three days after buying Moxie, Coca-Cola makes another big purchase. British-based Costa Coffee operates more than 3,400 coffeehouses worldwide and is the world's second-largest coffee chain. (Starbucks has more than 28,000 locations.)

As the Los Angeles Times put it, Apple walked to a trillion-dollar valuation; Amazon sprinted. Shares of Amazon have risen by more than 70% since January 1.

The drivers interviewed for this story are not Amazon employees; they are couriers who work out of Amazon facilities. An Amazon spokeswoman says "drivers are encouraged to take breaks any time they need." Umm.....okay. Can we get that in writing?

I don't need to add any comments here. This Los Angeles Times headline says it all:

One of my high-school English teachers told us on the first day of class, "There is one noun I never want to hear any of you using: 'Stuff.' It is an ugly word." I hope she doesn't see this story.
