Hey GarCar!
Are you a total moron? I said $5 within 1 year. That's why I am loading up. Not one day. What do you think, I am a timing daytrader? Market believes Apple music will have an impact on subs. I believe it won't and I believe Howard re-signs. Earnings are not priced in. Slowing subs and not hitting FCF targets are priced in. I believe they will be exceeded this quarter, next quarter, the quarter after etc
As long as the overall market stays calm Disney will rise back into Star Wars. It already has done quite well since the August China mayhem. Technical analysis means zilch. It's like reading tea leaves. When you buy a stock you are buying it's future earnings. You aren't buying a chart. This isn't a casino and it isn't geometry. This is business. Star Wars will be the highest worldwide box office in history. Bank on it! At 12.5 times EV/EBITDA this company was an absolute steal.
You know. I've been called worse. Muscle... we've been thru this many times in this forum and other forums. We've had $4.50-$6 price targets all the way back since 2011. All for the same reasons you claim SIRI will be at $5 in a year from now. IT HASN'T HAPPENED. Will it happen? I guess you will have to sit on your investment to see.
Not only am I not a moron... I have a hell of a lot more money than you do. You can bet on that. :)
No worries... muscle and I have known each other (online) for a long time. We never talked much until Sirius Buzz. I understand where he's coming from. I know if you question him or don't agree with him, he will call you a name. :) He's probably right about SIRI. It could very well be $5 from a year from now. I just don't get excited when people toss out price targets anymore. There's so much going on with respect to the connected car and with music, etc... I guess the market is waiting to see who the winner and losers are. Who knows.
Edit: I was at LaCantera (open mall) and they had a Tesla there for demo. The entertainment and diagnostic screen was HUGE. It looked like a 20" screen from what I could tell. It kind of looked like a iPad Pro in the dash. It was a really nice car.
Muscle -Maybe you didn't read my comment correctly - I said without fundamentals that technical analysis means zilch. I agree. But technical analysis is not worthless as you point out.
I guess technical analysis didn't mean anything when I called SIRI's long-term correction
SIRI 11/7/2013 – Grab Your Shotgun, There are Bears Lurking in Sirius’ Woods
I guess it also didn't mean anything when I told people that AAPL bottomed around the $385 area
AAPL 6/26/2013 - The Bottom Appears to Be In
Or when TWTR was sitting at $36 and I told members it was going to $57 (it hit $55 and change) and to then lock in gains because of a sell-off, which it subsequently did also.
TWTR 6/13/2014 #Price Objective $57
Or before FB popped above $30 and never looked back, or when DDD topped out and I told members to stay out, or when I told members after the $385 update that AAPL was going to $1,000 (pre-split price, which AAPL fell just short of at $136 on a 7 to 1 split)..........or when FEYE was $28 and I threw a $50+ price target on it, or when........
there are just too many times where the calculated price targets are achieved and when the technical analysis points me in the right direction.
let me ask you this muscle - do you think insider trading occurs? If yes, the charts tend to pick up on unusual information before that information gets publicly disseminated. Reading tea leaves? Not quite. But trying to pick up on unusual activity - you bet!
I just wish I was smart enough to make a million $$$$ trading - er I mean INVESTING too! (that's sarcasm) No worries Muscle you have your way and I have mine. To each his own and let's just go make some $$$! :rain: Nice to see DIS moving up and I thank you for bringing it to my attention this past summer. Looking forward to making some nice coin right along side you. (that's sincere)
I agree that DIS has plenty of upside from here. However, if it's just a numbers game and DIS is a steal at 12.5 x EV/EBITDA then AAPL must be a screaming buy at 8.5 x EV/EBITDA. AT&T (T) is under 10, and even WMT is 7.3....12.5 x EV/EBITDA is nothing to sneeze at but it's not all that unusual...a lot of companies have better metrics.
I've installed a new theme for my site a few weeks ago with a lot more options - check out my new candlestick page. Hover your mouse over the candlestick pattern and the requirements and a few notes will pop up. This could be a great reference tool for those that like to use candlesticks when trading.
Candlestick Patterns
do not click on the illustrations though - clicking on the candlestick pattern though will bring you to a members only page that lists the requirements in detail, guidelines & observations, trading strategies and real chart examples. If you aren't logged in as a member though, you will be re-directed to the subscribe page.
Feel free to check out other pages too and let me know what you think about the new theme!
P.S. Go SIRI!
Shoot...I didn't make a monday night football pick....I don't even know who's playing.....just a sec....uh....Steeler and Chargers I guess....in S.D....I uh.....pick uh.......the guys with the white uniforms and lightening bolts because....well....just because.
I can’t believe I have to read this idiotic babble....I’m outta here!!! Do I have to explain everything??????
How many times do I have to see $4 and $5 price targets for SIRI just before every damn earnings quarter?????? :)
Wow you guys don't follow media at all. You are comparing Apple, Walmart and AT&T - NONE of them in the content media business with totally different growth rates, to DISNEY????? Take care dudes. That's it for me. I don't speak with people who don't follow the business.
Catch you in a day or so muscle. Thanks again for pointing out the Star Wars/DIS play. I think we are going to make some nice coin on this trade. :o
In the meantime, lets just take a look at the ev/ebitda metrics of some media content companies.
Comcast has an EV/EBITDA of like 8.5
CBS is 9.3.
Clear Channel Outdoors is 10.3
Discovery Communications is 9.85
Btw Muscle... I am up over 100% on my AT&T investment since purchasing. Granted, I purchased them a long long time ago BUT I've been getting dividends for many, many years. Hell I think these shares are bot and paid for. It's just gravy now... Investing DOES PAY OFF! :)
