I just checked that out. Thanks Johnny! The FOOL doesn't speak highly of us often. It's nice to see a little change of pace. They have a lot of followers. This could be good news indeed!

Sorry, but the clear and old definition of a recession is always been 2 negitive quarters of GDP. We see that within 4 to 5 months after the second quarter of negitive GDP because of final revisions. I will agree we dont realize we are out of a recession until we are long out of it. The reason for that is that it takes at least one quarter of positive GDP and that is not releast until the final revision which does not come till 4 to 5 months after it happens.
The fact is the MSM was saying this kind of crap long long long before even the first negitive GDP even came close to happening. The GDP just doesn't drop off the face of the earth it generaly comes in steps towards.
I agree on the definition completely, but those who were saying it back then ,3 years as you say,was wise advice,if not early and based on historical bull runs ending, and glad they said it..helped me make my decision,as you know when the Neg quarters come it is too late to get out of investments affected by it...so better early or late than never is my motto...Of course my wife was in the mortgage bussiness and laid off in first wave,so had inside info so to speak...
a little T/A of siri , check it out, i hope dr dave doesnt care i posted a link to his chart here from the weekly market thread.. http://siriusbuzz.com/forum/showpost...&postcount=552
OK Johnny, I hate to admit this in public....so let's pretend this is private LOL
I check it out daily. It is my source for information on what stocks to swing trade. If the fool calls it a hot stock, it usually is, for at least a few days. I'm not a rich guy, but I'm very secure so to speak. And I actually owe that to stock picks that I've made using the FOOL.
Now, remember that is not public knowlege. The guys on this site would just laugh their asses off at me, and I don't want that;)
If Rick A. at the fool is bullish, then Im a monkeys uncle. I am always suspicious when he is bullish. Dont trust the fool as far as I can throw him. John, hes been backhandedly bullish for months, true. But he always throw in a dig or two, regardless of the topic. ANd he flip flops more than anyone Ive ever seen.
