The second grade????
You lie!
No, that's pretty darn close, '71 - '72 ish, correct?
EDIT: OK, just checked. "One" was released in '68 which means I was indeed "pretty darn close". Though, I will admit that many of the songs I recall from the band were released later. I had forgotten how many songs they wrote.
I may mistate things, or be wrong, but lie, that's not my style.
I apologize. Joe Wilson suggested that response. He's an idiot. Won't listen to anything he says from now on.
By the way, did you like the arrangement?
Nah. I took a screen shot of his outburst in Congress that night. He autographed it for me. I have it hanging above the toilet.
Thanks for that 'clarification', Julie.
I'm still not sure what he meant.
Perhaps, he once fell in and she wanted to remind him of it. You know, in a 'humorous' way.
You two are not being nice. LOL. I was talking about pictures above toilets. I was really trying to surf, on waves (it isn't easy).
Sure! Okay. We believe you!
Ha, Ha Ha. Oh my, I'm gonna wet myself.
It was the Atlantic Ocean at the Outer Banks National Seashore. If you haven't been there, you need to make a date.
The sound to the west of me, the ocean to the right, stuck in the middle with you.

(Gerry Rafferty - Baker Street)
Great tune! A favorite.
Memories. Love the music. This thread is great!
This is the cimbalom, or dulcimer, played by Hungarians, Romanians, Gypsies and others.
It is a delicate, interesting instrument and can convey any emotion beautifully.
Try this, as an example.

There was, until recently, a great video of two of the best cimbalom players together here. It has been deleted on YT likely by the label. I found another brief example of their duo appearances. I have seen Kalman live.

Professional dancers, with stamina and precision, performing a version of a classic Hungarian dance. Great fun.
Hungarian gypsy dance done a little differently.

Nice - free form piano like. Neat.
Could this be a classic rock and roll song?

Ok, gotta choose. Choices, choices, choices.................................. As individuals, we must make choices...............
Is your first comment re my cimbalom entry? If so, I would be interested in any further reaction.
10,000 maniacs for the brief taste I took.
Yes, it was. I've never seen such an instrument. The range of sound is unique. Where you a big fan of "Looney Tunes" as a kid? This reminds me of some of the back round music - maybe as you suggest - to convey an emotion, like "uh oh", or something ominous is about to happen.
I happen to agree with you on 10,000 maniacs. Natalie Merchant is just soooo deep and smooth.
No, it wasn't when I was a kid.
Looney Tunes is now and I am not enjoying it at all.
Merchant looks real good on that clip. Saw her on television recently. Looks different - but then who doesn't.
