P.S. Were unions out of control? YES. Everyone knew unions were out of control and could be the down fall of any company not just the OEMs. Your buddies in congress protected them so dont blame the CEOs about something they had little control over.

I have no prob with electric car....like I said....it can't be fueled by electricity which is generated by fossil fuels to have any significant positive impact. And, there's nothing silly about what I've said. You may disagree..that's cool...but nothing I've posted is silly. Nuke power is what we need, now, to transform our antequated and expensive elect grid. Unfortunately, the knee jerk 'no nukes' left from the 1980s has put the squeeze on that. They totally overreacted to Three Mile Island, and then the Russian debacle at Chernobyl (hey, it's the Russians...what do you expect!). The U.S., including our Navy, has never had a lethal nuclear accident (lethal radiation contamination). If there's promising nuke technology that is better than what we have today, bring it on...let's get going!
p.s. my point about liberals hating corporations was naturally a generalization, but it is about the constant railing from the left about the evils of corporate america and the desire to have gov't regulate everything whenever there's a problem.
Because at least be honest and say you dont own the stock anymore. Really who here owns any stock they hate. I mean if there are any here I call you an idiot. I hate the company but own the stock, that makes alot of sense doesn't it. I dont know about anyone else but if I hate a company I get the F out because I think it is going down and dont want it to take me with it.
i was civil, i simply told him to do the common sense thing, if he doesnt believe in the ceo and is obviously unhappy with siri's performance he should sell. hows that not being civil?
I didn't quote you did I?
The main reason I didnt is because I know you. You say things at times just to be an ass and you know it. This is one of those times in my opinion. Do as you will. My comment wasnt directed at you because I know you won't even consider it and miss the point entirely.
Maybe Julietoo won't either but I figured I would try.
And as for john... he calls every one an idiot. He just likes to bait people into a bashing argument.
Absolutely nothing constructive. So not worth the time to even discuss with him. He uses the statement idiot because he cant make arguments without using it.
Unions, unions, unions, unions, unions, unions, unions, unions, unions, unions, unions, unions, unions, unions, unions, unions, unions, unions,
unions, unions, unions, unions, unions, unions, unions, unions, unions, unions,unions..................................... ................................................Ww wwwwwwwwwwwwaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhh hhhhhh! I know. The unions are responsible for Sirius's stock price, your uncles bum leg and your pets constipation. Anything else? Hilarious.
Oh by the way my Grandfather and Dad ran VERY successful restaurants with unions. When things were tough they accepted responsibility. But that was a different time where people didnt look for scapegoats but worked their asses off to make it work for everybody.
Stkdn,
I have some of the same feelings you express, though with one difference. I have followed this stock since 2001. I have bought and sold a number of times over the years; some for profit, some for losses. But I have always seen value in this company and innovation possibilities in the product. Since you purchased SIRI as well, I am going to assume you also see value in the company. As a stockholders we should focus on the direction that is getting this company to a positive EPS. This is when our investments begin to gain the leverage that we seek. If you are purely speculating for the quick fix, then you are in for some pain. If you have invested with $$ that you need to be protected and liquid, then you are in the wrong stock.
We mostly all agree that SIRI doesn't do a great job of positive promotion for the stockholders, but at the end of the day do you still see this company succeeding? If you think not, then sell now and save your sanity. If you think yes, then start promoting the value of this company to everyone you know because that is how you overcome the bashing that others feel compelled to exert.
There is roughly 19 million subs and millions more that enjoy those subscriptions. SIRI is going to go EPS positive in one of the worst economies is recent history. Where do you think this stock is going to end up when that happens? Your .72 average will look like a bargain.
No problem being real, but don't forget the positive! :D
Sorry to say Underway, but Nuclear power is NOT the answer either.it is too damn expensive and detrimental to the environment, even after 50 years we still don't have a plan to get rid of the Rods or store it...I'm in PA. and still paying for their 2 nuke plants after Deregulation with what is called Transition fee...no Nuke plant has ever recouped the price it cost to build it with all the safety regs(which are needed) to keep them on-line...And your Naieve if you think we haven't had any lethal accidents in the Navy...
All unions aren't the issue, and neither are all industries. But, if anyone thinks that the people on the line at a GM plant who bolt the seats to the floor deserve almost $70/hr (fully loaded with benefits) is nuts. If you pull the benefits out, it's probably around $50/hr, which equals around $100k per year. Wow! Even if it's only 50k per year. That's way higher than the national average, and, for those who work in plants in more rural areas, they are paid so out of whack compared to others it's crazy. There are plenty of union workers in other industries that don't make anywhere near that. I'm not commenting on ALL unions. But, there are some industries where the impact of union greed is huge. This is an incontrovertible, economic fact.
Read the David Brooks quote again and please just acknowledge that the general arc of the American auto industry was down and very apparent for
all to see. GM went from 54% US market share to 19% market share OVER MANY YEARS. You cant see the forest for the trees (oh no your the tree hugger people have been talking about).
Think of it like a stock and tell me you didnt now what was going on. Anyone
can talk about a day up or a week up or a month up but its the overall chart
pattern that we pay attention to unless of course you are a trader and dont
think long term kind of like GM. :D
yes airman your point was brilliantly made. bravo
If i could just get Underway to read that NY times business article on the
Finnish nuclear plant maybe he would have to acknowledge its not so simple as to just say build nuclear.
One can always hope.
Nuclear industry has always been Govt subsidized. Didnt know Underway supported socialism:p
Ok, im 100 percent convinced now you dont own the stock, and your just a basher. So that being said......
Go away. Or offer something of value. Bash, but bash like Charles bashes at least. Offer some facts, and support them.
Your comments are transparent. Give you the benefit of the doubt in my mind long enough. Your not confused by this, as its a repost for a while back. Nice try buddy.
