i cant believe i missed the CC..LOL. did MEL give a great call?
relmor, it just keeps getting better they are now running for the year FCF positive. If I had to guess (because in the 4th quarter FCF is huge compared to the rest of the quarters) that means that they will be FCF positive for the year (if there is no surprise CAPEX included). That by itself should have the PPS going up up and away.
good news . . twitter site hacked bad; total takedown . .lmao
As we absorb the CC info and watch the pps bleed down, I am curious to find out from you on this board what the thought is relative to mthly price of SXM service and the market penetration. I consider myself a pretty average consumer with average price tolerances. Is $12.99/mth a barrier to broader penetration numbers and higher subs? I just got to thinking about cell phone, cable TV, Broadband service, etc. All these are now considered to be necessities and are slowly creeping down in price.
At $12.99/mth SXM is about 1/3 the cost of any one of these, but is challenged by totally free radio when it comes to music and news talk. (Which is what most people listen to)
My point is, would SXM actually increase it's subs and top line revenue enough that cash flow would more quickly outpace operational cost and capex? I jumped all over the 6 mos at $4.99 promo, but have to admit I will be hard pressed to continue at 12.99 6 mos from now. Especially because I have to listen to commercials on what are my favorite channels.
Just curious what your thoughts are.
Big Ben, after seeing some more of the numbers I have to say If you are lucky enough to get back in at what you want (somewhere in the thirties), then I would get in and stay there for a while. The numbers are only going to improve from here till at least the 1st and 2nd quarter of next year.
jon I will have my dime ready I am going to say we have seen the last of the thirties if we hold near the .5 mark today.
P.S. At this point I am just playing the odds and common sense (while SIRIXM does not follow that to much), that we do not get that low again. If the numbers were alot worse then they were in this quarter then that was possible. I just dont think it is now.
hey relmor ill go out on a limb here and make a call. if we close at least .56 on friday. next week we hit .70's. and a dollar within a few weeks. hint. take a look at the weekly chart. hella bullish, still needs a good print for this week. but if we close lower than .53 , here come the 40's.
now wait a freaking minute here john. . I was in on that dime bet with pluc long before you and I don't need you honing in on my money; pluc only has so much to go around; don't want him spreading himself too thin by taking your action also
;)
pluc will vouch for me . . I made my bet before the CC and I didn't condition-it on what happens today . . . tell'em pluc . . .
Looks like the news was well received! Going up from here?
I am going to try and get a chart for SIRI with the 10 day sma and post it here. I am a little slow this morning, lol, but am working on it. I need some coffee....be back
Oops! Posted in the wrong thread...negate that last post, lol.
Sirius Roadkill, We may still be owing jon a dime. I just think the odds of it happening now after seeing the numbers out are much less likely then before. This was the quarter they had to get over IMO, now that they have and the numbers are nowhere close to as bad as I thought they would be, investors should not be willing to wait to see what the third quarter is going to hold because that quarter well be even better then this one even though much of the cost for the radios are put into the 3rd quarter for the forth quarter and that is what is going to make the 4th quarter look so good.
attn john . . I am making this prediction here first:
NASDAQ is screwed . . next letter from Mel will come from counsel
1.) Delisting requirement arbitrary and capricious
2.) Rank in total cap should be offsetting consideration
3.) Unintended consequences harmful to shareholders
NASDAQ has 3 choices:
1.) Grant the waiver to Sirius XM (won't do; bad precedent)
2.) Amend and revise current delisting requirements to utilize formula which takes into account total market cap (might do this long-term but not right-away; advantage here is they could back-in taylor-made formula for SIRI)
3.) Come-out with another extension
*Above will probably be rendered moot by natural rise in share price above $1.00
p.s. Sirius XM will not be delisted and will not Reverse Split . . Mel can give you the 120,000,000 reasons why . .
