Edit: You know there's a way to ignore people so you don't have to see or read their posts. It's easy to do and it makes it simple to eliminate the people you mention. It makes the forum much more pleasant. The best part is they have no clue you've ignored them. :) We had to remove a couple people (that post here) from our chat room because of their disruption.

I sold in 2007.

It was my understanding, at the time, that it was the first time they lost cable subs in the companies history. Am I making that up? Maybe I misunderstood the articles I was reading at the time.

I dont think I'm making that up but, I suppose I could be. I wasn't trying to make anything up, I was simply making an observation.

What I do know is, fios just became available in my area and people around me started jumping ship from comcast. Those they aren't jumping ship are getting better rates (lower margins for comcast) because of the competition offered by fios.

Prior to Verizons arrival we had no other options and zero bargaining power.

Comcasts cable division looked a lot better when they had a complete monopoly on the most heavily populated areas in Massachusetts (and other states).

I'm not comparing that to what SiriusXM offers, I'm just letting you know you can get non-music channels on other streaming services. It does exist.

From what Dolan at Cablevision stated at a conference last week Broadband EBITDA margins are SEVEN TIMES higher that Cable TV EBITDA margins so basically Comcast makes tons more profit on cord cutters as people shift to broadband streaming from linear TV viewing. Broadband is a much better business.
