Biden promises he'll pick a woman as his running mate
Yahoo News, Mar 15 2020 9:48 PM
Joe Biden has promised he would select a woman as his running mate if he wins the Democratic presidential nomination. "I commit that I will in fact pick a woman to be Vice President," Biden said during the Democratic Presidential debate. "There are a number of women who are qualified to be President tomorrow. I would pick a woman to be my Vice President."

To win the Democratic Presidential nomination, a candidate needs 1,991 pledged delegates. Biden now has 1,147 and Sanders has 861. The delegate count for four candidates who have dropped out the race: Warren 72, Bloomberg 61, Buttigieg 26 and Klobuchar 7. Tulsi Gabbard has only two delegates but she's still in the race. As they say in Hawai'i, No ke aha mai? Ua pupule?

After failing to win any states on March 3, "Super Tuesday" – not even her home state of Massachusetts – Elizabeth Warren said she was "assessing" her campaign. On March 5, she withdrew from the Presidential race. Bernie is now "assessing" his campaign. Golly gee, what could this mean?

In withdrawing from the Presidential race, Gabbard said she can best serve the country by working for people's "health and well-being" and by being ready to serve if the Hawai'i Army National Guard is activated. Yeah, and the fact she had won only two delegates had nothing to do with her decision, right?

Despite predictions that he would lose in 1948, Harry Truman defeated Thomas Dewey 49.6% to 45.1%. According to the Gallup Poll, Truman's average approval rating while he was President was 45.4%. Trump's is 40%. According to FiveThirtyEight.com, 52.1% now disapprove of Trump's job performance and 43.2% approve. (Blindly loyal Republicans likely account for all of that 43.2%.) In polls regarding head-to-head matchups, Biden has consistently led Trump by margins of 5 to 10%. Two hundred twenty-seven days till Election Day.
Donald Trump starts 2020 in the worst polling position since Harry Truman
CNN, Mar 21 2020 9:52 AM
An NBC News/Wall Street Journal poll finds that former Vice President Joe Biden leads President Donald Trump 52% to 43% in a general election matchup. An average of all polls this month puts Biden's advantage at 7 points. Bernie Sanders is still running, but he has no realistic path to winning the Democratic nomination. That means that it's Biden vs. Trump. And the President starts out in a very unusual place for an incumbent: behind. Trump is the first incumbent president to be trailing at this point in the general election cycle (late March in the election year) since Harry Truman in 1948.

In 2016, college-educated whites – and especially college-educated white women – favored the Republican party. In the 2018 midterms, large numbers of them abandoned the party and voted for Democrats and independents. That trend is expected to continue in 2020. King Donald the First has lost a lot of his support and he has failed to pick up any additional support. Two hundred twenty-four days till Election Day.

Plouffe, noting Trump's "blunt force communication" via social media, is urging Biden to start posting memes, GIFs and video clips on YouTube, Facebook, Snapchat, TikTok and Instagram in order to stay in the public eye. That is especially important now, as the coronavirus has shut down much of our nation.

In addition to a well-documented deterioration in his mental abilities,

Biden also has a new problem with a sexual harassment accusation.

Here is another take on the accusation which was ignored by an organization devoted to protecting women from this kind of assault. Of particular interest is that the org has a principal who is on the Biden campaign staff.

A lot of women have accused Trump of sexual assault and he even bragged about being able to assault women, so I do not think voters are going to care about
something Biden supposedly did in 1993.

You might be right but there is other evidence of his 'creepy' proclivities. Additionally, his history shows he has never been for working people but is instead a confirmed corporate sycophant. His current donor base provides conclusive evidence of that if any was needed.
Relative to Trump's grotesque behavior, it is a sign of dem impotence and enabling, voter apathy and stupidity, MSM collusion, and lack of any meaningful opposition. The fact that he has gotten away with everything he does supports that observation. Our owners don't like his blatant crude and vulgar actions because it draws attention but DO appreciate everything he does for them. There is overwhelming evidence of that.
That is what now passes for what many believe is a 'wonderful' country. Few understand how corrupt this country is and how long it has been that way.
Trump has exposed it but few will care.
-
Voter apathy and stupidity is indeed a huge problem. As for "meaningful opposition" to Trump, don't forget that former Massachusetts Governor Bill Weld won one whole delegate in Iowa. Wooh! I guess winning only one delegate isn't really "meaningful," though. Weld resigned from the race last week.
Civil war did not halt the 1862 Presidential election and COVID-19 will not halt the 2020 Presidential election. To prevent the spread of the coronavirus, we're told to practice "social distancing," staying at least six feet away from other people. That obviously includes voting by mail instead of at a polling place. Elections in Colorado, Hawai'i, Utah, Oregon and Washington are done entirely by mail. The Federal Election Commission and voting-rights groups are calling for a vote-by-mail system for all remaining Presidential primaries and the November 3 election. In addition, Democrats would like all 50 states to allow 15 days of early voting prior to November 3.

As of April 1, oddsmakers at the European sports betting site Betfair are favoring Kamala Harris as Joe Biden's running mate. Amy Klobuchar is second on the list and is followed by Stacey Abrams, Catherine Cortez Masto, Gretchen Whitmer and Elizabeth Warren. Biden needs to win Michigan. Whitmer could help him do that.

The GOP just weaponized coronavirus to disenfranchise millions of voters
BoldProgressives.org, Apr 8 2020 5:44 PM
This is Ben Wikler, Chair of the Wisconsin Democratic Party and longtime progressive activist and PCCC ally. Yesterday, thousands of Wisconsin voters were forced by Republicans and Trump's Supreme Court to choose between exercising their right to vote and keeping themselves and their neighbors safe from the coronavirus. Many of those who risked their health stood in lines for hours waiting to cast ballots. Countless voters who requested absentee ballots weeks ago did not get them in time and were completely disenfranchised. What was done to Wisconsin offers a nightmare vision of what the whole country could face in the fall: A fight where Democrats struggle to balance democracy with public health and the GOP remorselessly weaponizes courts, election laws and the coronavirus itself to disenfranchise millions of voters who stand in its way. The Wisconsin GOP isn't playing games. They weaponized the coronavirus for voter suppression and Trump's Supreme Court was eager to back them up. We need your help heading toward November. We can’t allow their scheme to work.

Biden and Sanders are forming six task forces to formulate policies on climate change, criminal justice, immigration, health care, education and the economy – in contrast to King Donald the First, who has insisted climate change is a hoax and who has made every effort to restrict legal immigration and dismantle our health care system. As for "criminal justice," look at how many of his former aides and associates are now in prison!
