I would say that if you are not comfortable with options, steer clear. But basically an option is just an agreement (contract) to buy or sell a stock at a predetermined price and time. There are several reasons one might want to do this which I won't go over now. If you are looking to unload those AAPL shares at around the $130 mark then it doesn't make any sense to mess around with selling $118 calls cause they might get called away from you and you'd end up selling them for $118.
Now then...the December $130 calls can be sold for about $.45 right now.....but I'd wait and see .....plenty of time for that to play out and if/when the AAPL stock price rises up over $120, you'll probably be able to get a higher price for those 130 calls.
