Trump never admits to doing anything wrong – but he's been hit with four indictments and charged with 91 crimes! Today's indictment charges Trump and 18 others with joining a conspiracy "to unlawfully change the outcome of the election in favor of Trump" after refusing "to accept that Trump lost" the 2020 Presidential election.

Former Arkansas Governor Asa Hutchinson believes Trump should drop out of the Presidential race. Tonight he wrote on X, "Over a year ago, I said Donald Trump’s actions disqualified him from ever serving as President again. Those words are more true today than ever before."
And then there is Ohio Retrumplican Representative Jim Jordan, who heads the House Judiciary Committee and who has sold his soul to Donald Trump and worships him, protects him and defends him at all costs. Jordan wrote on X, "Today’s indictment is just the latest political attack in the Democrats’ WITCH HUNT against President Trump. He did nothing wrong!" Wow. He sounds just like Trump!
Congress passed the Racketeer Influenced & Corrupt Organizations Act in 1970 and President Nixon signed it into law. In Georgia, a conviction for violating the RICO Act carries a prison sentence of five to 20 years. Yesterday's indictment charged Trump, Giuliani, Meadows and 16 others with constituting "a criminal organization whose members and associates engaged in various related criminal activities including, but not limited to, false statements and writings, impersonating a public officer, forgery, filing false documents, influencing witnesses, computer theft, computer trespass, computer invasion of privacy, conspiracy to defraud the state, acts involving theft, and perjury."
But don't forget, Trump and his Retrumplican defenders insist he did nothing wrong!

Retrumplicans continue to protect and defend Donald Trump and insist he's done nothing wrong – but posters on social media see things differently.
Critics mark Donald Trump's latest indictment in most brutally mocking ways

Donald Trump continues to insist – with zero evidence – that the 2020 Presidential election was rigged and stolen. Today he wrote on Truth Social, "A Large, Complex, Detailed but Irrefutable REPORT on the Presidential Election Fraud which took place in Georgia is almost complete & will be presented by me at a major News Conference at 11:00 A.M. next Monday in Bedminster, New Jersey. Based on the results of this CONCLUSIVE Report, all charges should be dropped against me & others. There will be a complete EXONERATION! They never went after those that Rigged the Election. They only went after those that fought to find the RIGGERS!"
I'm sure if we asked Trump who wrote this "conclusive" and "irrefutable" report, he would refuse to answer. If he were honest, he would admit, "I made it up."
How valid are attorney Jonathan Turley's opinions in this essay? Well, keep in mind he is a Libertarian, he opposed Donald Trump's impeachments, he opposed the Affordable Care Act and he is a frequent contributor to Fox News.
Will Trump go to prison? Why jail time is unlikely for the former President.
Memes of a jailed Trump continue to be the rage online. However, a review of the legal proceedings ahead is a buzzkill for the lock-him-up crowd.

Two days ago, the capital-letter-obsessed former President wrote on Truth Social that he would hold a news conference on August 21 and provide "A Large, Complex, Detailed but Irrefutable REPORT on the Presidential Election Fraud which took place in Georgia. All charges should be dropped against me & others. There will be a complete EXONERATION!"
Today, Trump canceled the news conference. On Truth Social. he explained why it is no longer necessary: "Rather than releasing the Report on the Rigged & Stolen Georgia 2020 Presidential election on Monday, my lawyers would prefer putting this Irrefutable and Overwhelming evidence of Election Fraud and Irregularities in Legal Filings. as we fight to dismiss this disgraceful Indictment by a publicity and campaign finance seeking D.A. who, sadly, presides over a record breaking Murder & Violent Crime area, Atlanta."
What is "irrefutable" is that the 2020 Presidential election was not rigged or stolen. Biden won. Trump lost.
Jon Cooper, who worked on the Presidential campaigns of Barack Obama and Joe Biden and is the Democratic majority leader of the Suffolk County Legislature in New York, asked, "Is Trump a fraud – or a coward?" My answer, Jon, is: both.
Moore is a typical Retrumplican. He has sold his sold to Donald Trump and worships him, protects him and defends him at all costs. How dare anyone try to hold Trump accountable for his many crimes! Trump is above the law and must remain above the law!

Donald Trump's sleazy lawyers are doing exactly what he is paying them to do: insist Trump has done nothing wrong and go after everybody who attempts to hold Trump accountable for his many crimes.

Retrumplicans ignore the four indictments and the 91 criminal charges and refuse to believe Trump has done anything wrong. Therefore, anyone who believes Trump has committed crimes and seeks to hold him accountable must be severely punished.

At a rally in Tampa on July 31, 2018, Trump said, "Anybody can act Presidential." Maybe so – but Trump certainly never acted Presidential! All the lies, lawsuits, indictments and criminal charges give proof of that.

Four indictments! Ninety-one criminal charges! And it should surprise no one that Donald Trump pleaded not guilty to every one of them.

Trump continues to insist the criminal charges against him are "fake" and "election interference." Yes, all 91 of them are fake! Because Trump almost never tells the truth, I imagine if he testifies in his own defense he will wind up being hit with many thousands of perjury charges.

The Racketeer Influenced & Corrupt Organizations Act (RICO) of 1970 provides for criminal penalties for people engaged in organized crime. In the case of Donald Trump and 18 others indicted in Georgia, the "organized crime" is their coordinated efforts to overturn the 2020 Presidential election which Trump lost.
Trump's Georgia trial won't start in October: judge
USA TODAY, Sep 14 2023 1:43 PM ET
The Georgia racketeering trials for Donald Trump and 16 co-defendants won't begin in October, Fulton County Superior Judge Scott McAfee ruled today. He separated the cases from two co-defendants, Kenneth Chesebro and Sidney Powell, whose trial will start October 23. McAfee didn't set a trial date for Trump but he set deadlines of October 6 for prosecutors to share evidence with Trump's defense lawyers and December 1 for filing arguments in the case.
McAfee's ruling came after Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis argued that Trump and all 18 co-defendants in the election racketeering case should be tried together starting October 23. McAfee ruled the courthouse "contains no courtroom adequately large enough to hold all 19 defendants, their multiple attorneys" and the prosecution team.

Welker asked Trump why he didn't listen to the White House attorneys who told him he should accept his loss to Joe Biden. "I didn't respect them," he said. "I respected many others who said the election was rigged." Yes, Trump will respect anyone who believes his Big Lie of a rigged and stolen election.
Legal experts say Trump just threw his own legal defense 'under the bus'
HuffPost, Sep 18 2023 6:34 AM ET
Legal experts said Donald Trump doomed one of his legal defenses during his interview with NBC’s Kristen Welker that aired on Sunday’s broadcast of Meet The Press. Trump told Welker it was his decision – and not that of his lawyers – to challenge the 2020 election result. Harvard Constitutional law professor Laurence Tribe said Trump "just threw his whole 'following my lawyers’ advice' defense under the bus."
Former acting solicitor general Neal Katyal, appearing on MSNBC’s Inside With Jen Psaki, agreed, saying Trump’s comment had just made the election obstruction case against him before U.S. District Judge Tanya Chutkan "a lot easier."

Deranged, demented, delusional Donald continues to insist he hasn't done anything wrong – ever – and the four indictments and 91 criminal charges are nothing more than "political persecution" and "election interference." So why is he so afraid of going to trial? Anyway, if Congress can't reach a funding agreement by September 30 and there is a government shutdown, the criminal cases against Trump will not be affected.

Trump makes nasty comments about judges, juries, news reporters, women, blacks, Jews, Muslims, Hispanics, military veterans, Democrats, liberals, gays, lesbians, transsexuals and even a few Republicans who fail to worship him, protect him and defend him. The only way he will ever be able to abide by a gag order is if his larynx is surgically removed and he is banned from all social media sites.

Deranged, demented, delusional Donald and his attorneys are now insisting that spreading lies of a rigged and stolen election and inciting a deadly riot in the hope of overturning Joe Biden's win are part of the President's "official duties." Wow. Lock him up! Lock him up!

No matter what Donald Trump says or does, the Congressional Retrumplicans who have sold their souls to him continue to worship him, protect him and defend him. They refuse to denounce him for his lies, his threats, his bluster and his hateful comments. We can be grateful that judges are not as accepting and tolerant.
