After spending all day declaring he will not cooperate with Robert Mueller, Sam Nunberg has had a change of heart -- probably motivated by his desire to not be imprisoned for defying a federal subpoena. Nunberg believes Trump knew about the June 2016 Trump Tower meeting with Trump's campaign staff, Donald Jr. and the Russians. Trump, of course, claims he did not know about the meeting. Yeah, sure, uh-huh.

In late 2016, Trump was considering Mitt Romney for Secretary of State. Vladimir Putin did not like Romney. Putin wanted Rex Tillerson -- and Tillerson got the job after Russian trolls mounted a campaign against Romney. Russia is at war with the US and the battles are being waged online.

Russian trolls are still hard at work trying to meddle in our elections. возмутительный! скандальный!
Possible Russian trolls try to register for Texas Democratic convention
NBC News, Mar 15 2018 5:58 AM ET
Hundreds of Texas Democratic Party activists will gather at the Austin Hyatt Regency on March 24 to nominate candidates for political office in Travis County, a kick-off event leading up to the 2018 midterm elections. But some people who tried to register will not be attending, among them Candida McGruder. Gustavo Chubb. Geraldo Tinsley. Vincent Amundson. Roxie Male. That's because they and 43 others who signed up to attend don't appear to be Travis County residents, or Texans, or even Americans. They might not even be real people. They may be pranksters — or they may be Russian trolls, and their appearance in Texas could represent the first public example of foreign probing of the 2018 elections. Five senior intelligence officers, two current and three former, say the case of the Texas 48 looks like Russian meddling. Twenty-five of those 48 were trying to register with email addresses ending in "mail.ru," the internet designation for domains in Russia.

One day after firing former FBI director Andrew McCabe (who would have been eligible for his full pension after just two more days), Trump now wants Mueller's investigation into Russian election meddling halted. Mueller recently subpoenaed records of Trump's business dealings and Trump is obviously afraid of what Mueller will find out. If Trump fires Mueller, his Presidency will be over, just as Nixon's Presidency was doomed after the Watergate break-in cover-up and the firing of prosecutor Archibald Cox.

Trump started his Sunday morning by lashing out at James Comey, Andrew McCabe and Robert Mueller. He tweeted that Comey's memos are "fake," McCabe's memos are "fake" and Mueller's team is biased and dominated by "crooked Hillary supporters." In 2016, Trump did not have the experience, the temperament, the maturity or the stability to be President -- and he still doesn't.

Donald Trump tweeted this at 6:07 AM today: “A total WITCH HUNT with massive conflicts of interest!” -- obviously a reference to the Mueller investigation. Trump has spent two years parroting his idiotic mantra of "Fake news! Witch hunt! Fake news! Witch hunt! Let's have a show of hands: Who thinks Trump is acting like a man who is innocent? Anyone? No one?
In op-ed, Senator Mark Warner calls on Congress to protect Mueller probe from Trump
CBS News, Mar 19 2018 9:23 AM
Senator Mark Warner, D-Virginia, is calling on members of Congress to step in and defend Special Counsel Robert Mueller from President Trump's ongoing attacks as he continues his probe into Russian interference in the 2016 election. Warner, the vice chairman of the Senate Intelligence Committee, which is pursuing its own investigation into possible ties between Russian entities and the Trump campaign, wrote an op-ed for USA Today in which he said that Mueller sits "squarely in the crosshairs" of Trump and his allies.
Warner referenced the President's own tweets over the weekend in which he unloaded on the FBI, DOJ and Mueller himself -- once again insisting there was "no collusion" between his campaign and Russia and disparaging Mueller's staff of investigators as politically biased. Warner said the President's persistent attacks against Mueller and career law enforcement officials should alarm Republicans and Democrats alike.
Trump's efforts to dismantle the investigation "echo dark times in our nation's history," Warner wrote. "Congress must make clear to the president that firing the special counsel, or interfering with his investigation by issuing pardons of essential witnesses, is unacceptable and would have immediate and significant consequences. In the United States of America, no one is above the law. Not even the president."

Special counsel: Manafort, Gates worked with Russian intelligence agent
CBS News, Mar 28 2018 9:56 AM
Documents filed by special counsel prosecutors reveal that former Trump deputy campaign chairman Richard Gates was knowingly working with an individual with ties to Russian intelligence during the campaign. The special counsel alleged that this unnamed person worked for one of former Trump campaign chairman Paul Manafort's companies and was in touch with Gates in September and October 2016. This individual is also described as being "pertinent to the investigation."
These new details were revealed in a court filing about the upcoming sentencing of Alex van der Zwaan, a Dutch lawyer who worked with Gates and Manafort. On April 3 he will be the first person sentenced in the Mueller probe. Van der Zwaan, who has pleaded guilty to lying to investigators, told the special counsel that Gates told him the person in question was a former Russian Intelligence Officer with the GRU, Russia's military intelligence directorate.

Here is today's chapter in the ongoing "spy thriller" drama series:
Special Counsel Robert Mueller's team probing Russia contacts at Republican convention
Reuters, Mar 29 2018 3:29 PM
Investigators probing whether Donald Trump's presidential campaign colluded with Russia have been questioning witnesses about events at the 2016 Republican National Convention, according to two sources familiar with Special Counsel Robert Mueller's inquiries. Mueller's team has been asking about a convention-related event attended by both Russia's US ambassador and Jeff Sessions, the first US senator to support Trump and now his attorney general, said one source.
Another issue Mueller's team has been asking about is how and why Republican Party platform language hostile to Russia was deleted from a section of the document related to Ukraine, said another source. Mueller's interest in what happened at the Republican convention in Cleveland in July 2016 is an indication that Trump campaign contacts and actions related to Russia remain central to the special counsel's investigation.

FBI raids Trump lawyer Michael Cohen's office
CBS News, Apr 9 2018 5:36 PM ET
The FBI today raided the office of Michael Cohen, Donald Trump's personal attorney. They seized emails, tax documents and business records from his office, including content related to his payments to porn actress Stormy Daniels, also known as Stephanie Clifford. A court warrant authorizing the raid was obtained. It is unclear what investigation the raid stems from. Cohen has admitted paying Clifford $130,000 after she said she had an affair with President Trump over a decade ago. Cohen has cooperated with authorities and turned over documents to congressional investigators looking into Russian interference in the 2016 presidential election.

Russia-linked account pushed fake Hillary Clinton sex video
NBC News, Apr 10 2018 5:39 PM
A pornographic video that falsely claimed to show Hillary Clinton engaged in a sex act with a black man has been traced back to an account, Rubinjer, that Reddit acknowledged today is linked to Russia's Internet Research Agency. A link to the fake porn video was posted in 2016 on Reddit’s largest pro-Trump community, r/The_Donald, and titled "This is How Hillary gets black votes." Reddit said 944 accounts, including Rubinjer, have been banned for "suspected Russian Internet Research Agency origin."
