PALO ALTO, Calif., July 1, 2009 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Space Systems/Loral (SS/L), a subsidiary of Loral Space & Communications (Nasdaq: LORL) and the leading provider of commercial satellites, today announced that SIRIUS FM-5, a satellite that it provided to SIRIUS XM Radio, America's satellite radio company, is performing post-launch maneuvers according to plan. The satellite's solar arrays deployed on schedule early this morning, following yesterday's successful launch from the Baikonur Space Center in Kazakhstan aboard a Proton Breeze M launch vehicle provided by International Launch Services (ILS). The satellite is scheduled to begin firing its main thruster tomorrow in order to start maneuvering into geosynchronous orbit.
Well, .46 didn't last long. There's the sell-off back down to .44. I may have been right about .45.

NEW YORK, July 1 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- SIRIUS XM Radio (Nasdaq: SIRI) announced today that Jamie Foxx, Academy Award(R)-winning actor, American Music Award-winning and Grammy(R)-nominated artist and comedian, is taking his exclusive SIRIUS XM Foxxhole radio channel to Las Vegas for a special live broadcast during the beginning of his "Blame It" concert tour on July 4th weekend. SIRIUS XM will exclusively air the first song Foxx performs at the July 3 concert, bringing listeners all over the world straight to the front row.
Thats why we sent up a satellite. In your face MSM...and we'll put up 10 more just like it around the world if you don't mind..Quote:
New satellite launch reveals Sirius is not dead
News of the launch comes as rumours circulate regarding the future – or lack thereof – of satellite radio as a medium and providers such as Sirius.
According to the Vancouver Sun, merged outfit Sirius XM has been unable to post a profitable year since 2001, is some $3.25 billion USD in debt, and is on the verge of bankruptcy.
how do you do a review of music apps and not include the #1 music app?? LOL LOL LOL

10 iPhone music apps reviewed
What an absolute moron...his frickin title says hes reviewing music apps, but then excludes sirius because the app doesn't have the NFL, duh, thats not music.Quote:
For Sirius, the app is free but you need to have a subscription to the satellite service already or pay a small monthly fee to access the service.
And I was geared up to buy it when it came out recently. I was ready to hand over my credit card details for the $2.99 service for NFL coverage come fall. But no. Sirius seriously doesn't offer its NFL coverage to its iPhone app. Same with Nascar, MLB and even Howard Stern.
I can't recommend buying it for a service fee without access to the premium channels. Not with the plethora of offerings that don't involve a monthly fee.
broke .4608 off to .48 now
Big pump by a cnbc reporter of sirius
yep at our hod atm, be nice if we could break .48
what did u hear bass?
what happaned to AIG? it shot up to $18.00.Hope things like that happen to Siri as well.
with the turnaround of automarket, sirius should be worth twice as much as it is right now
yeah you would not want to be in aig right now, perfect example of why you need a positive catalyst for a r/s to work. sometimes not even then i imagine
