Newman, I know I hate to say it but people that wanted them to give a estimate on subs would have been even more pissed if they did. Just think how they would have acted if Mel said they will be lucky just to stay even in 2009. They would have been all over Mel for constantly saying bad news.
My thoughts exactly john. As far as subscribers go, I think it was smart not to give subscriber guidance, though I was disappointed there was no revenue guidance.
looks like we had two CC threads. I was on the other one.
888's..
Did you hear Mel make his "cash is king" mantra again? and the reason he financed to Feb Notes rather than use COH..to keep sizable cash position so the books look better..he's been saying this since Sept..
Except for Frear saying "no guidance this year or any other in the future" gaff, I think it was a "no disasters" showing and what we needed. I'm sure Frear didn't realize what he said there. Getting these guys outside of prepared remarks is dangerous LOL..
Guys...
I say we have just entered the new era for SIRI SP. We will now see a more postive sentiment from here. The negative days are behind us. A 6 mo. chart also shows the turn..Rome won't be built in a day but sentiment higher for sure. :sunny:
no more penthouse for Maddoff...time for the big house LOL...what a douche..
This is pretty good timing for the SP. Just as the general market will be bottoming, so is SIRI. As those sideline dollars start coming in, we just need a big player or two to see the opp to make .75 on their 2M shares and we will be on our way...then others will follow...
sl62, I already gave you a reply on that other thread. I will say it again. In a less polite way if you think it was wise to take out Feb. debt and give up 40% of the company just to keep alot of COH then you are smoking crack. Now if you saw the thread I put up "just opinion" then you would realize the deal with Malone was not because of the Feb debt but because of May debt. The fact is Mel would have been happy to pay 175 million out of COH to get Feb out of the way as long as the May debt could be extended. That was the catch 22 to the deal.
Since funds were "released" to major league baseball for the next two years, does anyone know if that is the same as prepaying the fees to major league baseball for those two years? If that is the case, Sirius XM will have less expenses to deal with these next two years. Anyone have any information?
By the way, I think it was wonderful that they did not give any guidance on future revenues or subscribers. That way, the press has no information to pick apart and put a negative spin on.
yes it was a prepay to MLB and they don't owe until 2011,plus there is no longer a requirement to escrow it either, this will free up money to pay 25mil and 50mil of credit facility loan from liberty due this year and next..
Seriously are you guys playing with me or what. I am not sure but I could have swore we just went over all this a few post earlyer.
If not then thanks "JohnnyIrishXM" because I know noone believes me that they need someone else to say it. I know "homer" is busy and would have hated for him to have to waste his time again by saying the samething I just said before.

Hey John,i typed out a wordy answer for you as I pull off my mask and look it's Homer!!!!!
LOL
I've been following that pattern and i think it is hilarious!!!!!
Homer is great as are the other senior members here, lots of good info...
Mask back on now!!!!
John, every time I see it, I laugh myself...
You have to admit, homer does explain it better with more facts. Maybe thats why they listen to him? Maybe you just need to add a link or a number in your posts. ;)
Newman yes homer does. When I was at SA and here a while ago I used to pull up the old link. The problem is I go from articles I read I have to go all the way back to where I read them. It takes me alot of time where homer seems to have some kind of archive of articles. To be honest I really dont care though. Poeple may act like they dont read my post but I find it amazing how many ideas, comments I make that seem to appear in other peoples post. Do I need to go any further then the words "this pig".
