What I had said to Big Ben was that 2Q2010 earnings reports will be good and stablize the market (for a time). He predicts constant gloom and doom. And while he predicted an 8000 dow; I am on record as saying the market will trade sideways for several months - until something good or bad happens.
I hope Schiff is wrong, but clearly he has a decent track record. I've read two of his books. I'm no economist, but one main concern is what happens when China and Japan start using their dollar holdings to buy things -- inflation -- hyperinflation? He contends that inflation here today is being held in check by China and Japan buffering the onslaught of dollars. There are several other issues, but that's a big one. Honestly speaking, it is sometimes hard for me to gain full understanding of what he is talking about.
