The volume on the NASDAQ page was 13,729,965 (I know this is lower then the Yahoo tracker) This is second lowest I have seen. There was a 12 million around Christmas. 14 million is "No volume" for Sirius.

I just want to say high and I've finally switched over from SA.
Good to see relmor,cos1000,sl62,killer,mogami etc. again.
I was just reading an article from motley fool, saying the president himself is killing sirius by investing billions in broadband. Is that possible ? I am lost here.
Can anyone explain or comment ?
Thanks
If Sirius added 10 million subs Motley Fool would write a story saying the new subs were killing the company by increasing wear on the satellites.
Everything that happens is bad for Siri according to them.
Exactly how does putting broadband into Appalachia hurt Sirius?
choirgirl,
I read that as well.....all I can say is it's a wonder that Motley Idiot can keep its offices open with garbage writing( I refuse to call it journalism) like that. I would take that article as a spoof on the administration and their cluelessness......than I would as something SIRI investors should worry about.

That had me laughing out loud at work.....But oh so true.....
I think SiriusXM should tell Obama "You pay for the satellites and we'll manage them. 1 sat provides internet, TV, phone, and radio. (and of course mind control) Govt can have it's own channels. "
john,
i must be a bit confused. your 2:46 PM post to me is about someone named Green and you reference homer. not sure why i got that post but it was interesting.
koop :)
Charles.............. I think I can speak for all of us........... We, the soldiers of the Big Blue Dog would like to give our thanks.......... for allowing the location of the pass.......... to this very advantageous " high ground ", so fortuitously, and generously passed on to our brigade commanders........ relmor, cos1000, sl62, and 163888 {John}. ... Here.......... we will make our stand. Our numbers increase daily........... as does our resolve. From this day forth ....... we will retreat no further. It is time to take back that which has been stolen from us. The Dog is strong, and we are Legion.................... they wii hear our battle cry........... it is time........... take up your armor and weapons........... the Dog is moving....... follow the Big Blue Dog........................... ....killer.......... keeper of the Dog.
koop, It relates directly to the deep capture story and how it is a bunch of speculation not based on anything but the worst case.
mogami, I agree that was good, I was cracking up.
Just want to thank the buzz for having this beautiful place to resume our daily business.
btw......anyone seen Bababooie? He was here yesterday.....haven't seen him since.
Busy work day...catching up on the threads
Broadband is just another platform that Sirius can be heard on via the internet.... and charge for it. It is a means to faster Internet speeds. Cable providers and Verizon, (telephone not cell), hard line players are finding the fastest media possible to make Internet Content available in businesses and homes. Getting these networks everywhere makes the content obviously available to everyone. Because so much information, in all of its various forms, are accessed through Broadband Technology, the Administrations (OBAMA) goal is to leave "No Community Behind", to coin a phrase, in having access.
It will also allow better availability through Wifi systems. Wherever Broadband is "Hardlined In", in all of its various forms, VIOS (Fiber), Cable, Phone DSL & T1, Wireless equipment can make it portable.... This platform does require Sirius Xm to maintain its Premier Content, IMHO, if they are going to compete with the other Internet / Wifi content providers such as Slacker, Pandora, and a variety of Internet Radio providers, who are all trying to in some form or another, be compatible on wireless devices, cell phones, etc.
The key for Sirius XM is to be able to provide Live Content and Premium Programming to keep their edge. Also to make devices that can make all platforms available to it, Sat's, Wifi Broadband, Streaming phone, etc..... Look at their current Stilletto II to see their current attempt at this, It connects to Satellites, Wifi Internet, Record Stations for playback later. I don't own one so you'll have to ask others for their input on how it performs..... I want the one I buy eventually to be able to also make a phone call.....
I guess it would be smoother with more bandwidth availalbe(faster)
I think so.....but I don't see it happening for a VERY long time.
SIRI content will not be free. That was a move that was smart.....though I am sure people are writing ways to hack it for access as we speak.
I came in at the end of the day and am having a hard time keeping track..... Are we at some point going to open another thread or should we keep this one going for a week or so? Any ideas Charles, Brandon, Anyone...... Where am I anyways..... anybody there? Hey, did you hear that.... Oh it was the just the Dog and Killer finding their way....
cos1000,
I would think we should open a new thread each day.
Haha, I came to post about the latest bash piece on SIRI, but no surprise everyone here has already talked about it.
"President Plans to Destroy Sirius XM"... these headlines are getting really blantatly ridiculous! Soon it'll just be something like "Sirius XM is dirty and has a fat mother".
