Outrage spreads at Trump's non-response to deadly tornadoes

St. Louis Mayor Cara Spencer is pleading for help for her community after confirming that there has been no federal response to disastrous tornadoes that killed 28 people in Missouri and Kentucky. Trump's non-response comes after a fall election season of non-stop attacks on President Biden's response to hurricane Helene in North Carolina. "FEMA has not been on the ground. We do not have confirmed assistance from FEMA at this point," Spencer said in an interview on MSNBC. "What we need right now is federal assistance. This is where FEMA and the federal government has got to come in and help communities. Our city cannot shoulder this alone."
DNC chair Ken Martin said in a statement, "Donald Trump talked a big game on the campaign trail about helping Americans recover from devastating natural disasters – but it looks like he lied again." The storm response in Missouri and Kentucky is particularly egregious considering Donald Trump and Elon Musk cut funding from FEMA, and the National Weather Service prior to the tornadoes hitting.
