Frankly, I'm not really sweating the tax hit -- which has been figured into our tax liabilities already.
I just really don't like the fact that I didn't research the commission structure at Scottrade more before buying through them the first time.
I don't regret it -- regrets are not my forte. I really wish that I hadn't done it, though :mad:
Now, it would appear that Scottrade is going to get another chunk on the next pop...

I hear ya -- I'm sure that we all have our stories.
It's nice to be here, ya know, where folks are comfortable enough to relate the horror stories - as well as the success stories.
Frankly, while it's embarrassing that I screwed up -- I'm glad to relate the story. In my mind, maybe my little nightmare will give pause to others that are here to really look at what they're doing.
Most importantly -- double check your orders!
Like Chuck says -- I got lucky. It coulda been a whole lot worse! It wasn't so long ago that I read about a couple of cats that sold, only to be chasing SIRI & losing several thousand $$$.

Hey, thanks for asking.
The ride was great. 4 days of between 90 and 110 miles a day. About 8 hours in the seat each day. It was beautiful. I spent a lot of time on the Blue Ridge Parkway. Just completely lovely up there. Then lots of time on gravel roads down in the valleys.
I'm no little guy ( or young guy for that matter), 200 pounds of me and a fully loaded bike make for a nice workout. I'd ride for an hour or two and enjoy the view from someplace special for an hour before I hit it again. I even rode about 40 miles under moonlight one night. Just fantastic!!!!
I'll be heading out to Southern Ohio in a few weeks and do it again during the intense fall color foilage season. Got to get as much of these long rides in as I can before the cold air gets here. If it weren't for this working stuff, I'd be on the bike a lot more!
