I'm no legal expert but if a judge rules that witnesses can ignore subpoenas, there really is no point to issuing them, is there? "If you want to talk to us, fine. If not, hey, no big deal. Justice isn't important."

Today at a rally in Atlanta, the corrupt, crooked, orange-skinned Liar-In-Chief denounced the impeachment inquiry as a "hoax," a "deranged, hyper-partisan witch hunt" and a "sinister effort" by Democrats to get him out of office. He also called the Russia investigation "the biggest lie ever perpetrated upon the American people." Trump apparently remains unaware of all the indictments, criminal charges, arrests, convictions, guilty pleas and prison sentences that resulted from the investigation.

Emperor Trump claims his administration is "the most transparent administration in the history of the United States" and yet he and his blindly loyal Republican lackeys ignore subpoenas, refuse to turn over documents, denounce investigations as "hoaxes" and "witch hunts," threaten and intimidate witnesses and engage in cover-ups. And even though impeachment is a Congressional matter and can not be adjudicated by the courts, some of those "transparent" Republicans are hopeful that a federal judge will tell them they don't have to comply with subpoenas. The Republicans who refuse to honor subpoenas to testify have given Adam Schiff a list of people, including the whistleblower, whom they want to have testify. Oh, the hypocrisy! By the way, in 1778 the Continental Congress passed legislation protecting whistleblowers. It was in response to the punishment of two naval officers who had complained about Commodore Esek Hopkins torturing British prisoners of war. Republicans, of course, don't care about that legislation – or about the Constitution, the rule of law or the Presidential oath of office. All they care about is protecting Emperor Trump.

Two more transcripts have been released. Both Croft and Anderson served as deputies to envoy Kurt Volker. Former national security adviser H.R. McMaster told CNN today he's looking forward to the televised public impeachment hearings, especially the testimony of Lieutenant Colonel Alexander Vindman, whose loyalty is to "the truth and the Constitution" and not to any particular President. Unlike the majority of Republican Congressmen, Trump does not want public hearings. The reason? He still insists he's done nothing wrong and therefore the investigation is a "witch hunt."
