Mick Mulvaney, who admitted Trump made a quid-pro-quo offer to Ukraine, today ignored a subpoena and failed to show up to testify. Can you say "obstruction of Congress"? I knew you could. Bolton is awaiting a judge's ruling as to whether he should honor a subpoena. I'm no legal expert but if a judge rules that witnesses can ignore subpoenas, there really is no point to issuing them, is there? "If you want to talk to us, fine. If not, hey, no big deal. Justice isn't important."

Trump tried to win the debates by bashing all the other candidates. Trump tried to win the 2016 election by bashing Hillary Clinton. Trump tried to discredit the Russia investigation by bashing Robert Mueller. Trump is trying to discredit the impeachment inquiry by bashing Adam Schiff and Nancy Pelosi. Trump is trying to win in 2020 by bashing "Sleepy Joe," "Crazy Bernie" and "Pocahontas." I'm starting to see a pattern.

Right-wing websites, conspiracy theorists and Twitter-tweeting twits are spreading "fake news" by sharing photos of R. David Edelman, a former adviser to President Obama. They say he's the whistleblower. They're wrong. Edelman was never a member of the intelligence community – and he hasn't worked for the government since 2017.
The internet thought it found the Trump whistleblower's picture. The internet was wrong.

Today at a rally in Atlanta, the corrupt, crooked, orange-skinned Liar-In-Chief denounced the impeachment inquiry as a "hoax," a "deranged, hyper-partisan witch hunt" and a "sinister effort" by Democrats to get him out of office. He also called the Russia investigation "the biggest lie ever perpetrated upon the American people." Trump apparently remains unaware of all the indictments, criminal charges, arrests, convictions, guilty pleas and prison sentences that resulted from the investigation.

Emperor Trump claims his administration is "the most transparent administration in the history of the United States" and yet he and his blindly loyal Republican lackeys ignore subpoenas, refuse to turn over documents, denounce investigations as "hoaxes" and "witch hunts," threaten and intimidate witnesses and engage in cover-ups. And even though impeachment is a Congressional matter and can not be adjudicated by the courts, some of those "transparent" Republicans are hopeful that a federal judge will tell them they don't have to comply with subpoenas. After all, protecting Emperor Trump is of supreme importance. Who cares about the Constitution, the Presidential oath of office, our rule of law, our balance of powers and the integrity of our elections?

The Republicans who refuse to honor subpoenas to testify have given Adam Schiff a list of people, including the whistleblower, whom they want to have testify. Oh, the hypocrisy! By the way, in 1778 the Continental Congress passed legislation protecting whistleblowers. It was in response to the punishment of two naval officers who had complained about Commodore Esek Hopkins torturing British prisoners of war. Republicans, of course, don't care about that legislation – or about the Constitution, the rule of law or the Presidential oath of office. All they care about is protecting Emperor Trump.

Trump depicted as fickle, susceptible to flattery and prone to grudges
In the transcripts, a portrait of a mercurial and loyalty-minded President has emerged.

Hey, CNN, we knew decades ago that Trump was "mercurial," "susceptible to flattery" and "prone to grudges." We didn't need to read transcripts to know that. As for the comment made by California Democratic Representative Jimmy Gomez, I think most of us agree Trump acts like both a child and a criminal.

Tell the truth and you never have to change your story. Lie and you'll have to keep changing your story every time your lies are discovered. Emperor Trump has never understood that: "I didn't hold up military aid. Okay, I held up military aid but there was no quid pro quo. Okay, there was a quid pro quo but only as part of an anti-corruption effort. Okay, there was no anti-corruption effort but the Ukrainians didn't know why their aid was blocked. Okay, the Ukrainians knew why their aid was blocked but it's not an impeachable offense. Okay, it's an impeachable offense but....... " Trump is gradually running out of lies. Los Angeles Times political columnist Doyle McManus asks: "If Trump did nothing wrong, why can't he get his story straight?"
How often has Trump changed his story on Ukraine? Let us count the ways.

Emperor Trump withheld Congressionally-approved military aid from Ukraine. Emperor Trump said he released the funds on September 11. Emperor Trump was lying. Again.

If Parnas' account is true, this would be the earliest known offer of the "military-aid-for-dirt-on-Biden" quid pro quo. The House will begin conducting public impeachment hearings this week. On November 13, Ambassador Bill Taylor and deputy assistant Secretary of State George Kent are expected to testify. Marie Yovanovitch, former Ambassador to Ukraine, will testify November 15.

Many Democrats are now dropping the Latin and calling Trump's quid-pro-quo offer what it really is: bribery and extortion. The Constitution of the United States cites bribery as an impeachable offense. Emperor Trump keeps insisting he did nothing wrong. Yes he did.

Emperor Trump continues to denounce the impeachment investigation as a "hoax" and a "witch hunt" and today he falsely accused "Shifty Adam Schiff" of releasing "doctored transcripts." Two more transcripts have been released. Both Croft and Anderson served as deputies to envoy Kurt Volker. Former national security adviser H.R. McMaster told CNN today he's looking forward to the televised public impeachment hearings, especially the testimony of Lieutenant Colonel Alexander Vindman, whose loyalty is to "the truth and the Constitution" and not to any particular President. Unlike the majority of Republican Congressmen, Trump does not want public hearings. The reason? He still insists he's done nothing wrong and therefore the investigation is a "witch hunt." Yeah, yeah, sure.

Emperor Trump held back Congressionally-approved military aid in an effort to pressure Ukraine to investigate a political rival. Thousands of pages of testimony from 13 (so far) current and former government officials show conclusively that Trump learned nothing from Russia's interference in our 2016 election. He pressured Ukraine to interfere in our 2020 election. Laura Cooper said Trump wanted to weaken Ukraine and strengthen Russia. That shouldn't surprise anyone. Comrade Trump loves Russia and Vladimir Putin. The Republicans, of course, love Trump and their party to the exclusion of all else, including the Constitution, the rule of law, the balance of power, the Presidential oath of office and the integrity of our elections. When no Republicans – none – vote to remove Trump from office, that shouldn't surprise anyone either. "Long live Emperor Trump!"

Emperor Trump's maneuvering in Ukraine and Rudy Giuliani's pursuit of a shadow foreign policy were helped along by The Hill political writer John Solomon and Fox News' Sean Hannity and Tucker Carlson. All five of those men are racist, bigoted, pro-Trump, anti-immigrant, conspiracy-theory-spreading white nationalists – and nobody is more pro-Trump than Trump. He worships himself.

Emperor Trump demands blind loyalty from all his lackeys. That means they let him say and do whatever he wants and never attempt to hold him accountable because, after all, Emperor Trump is above the law.
