I actually think the biggest problem with the prius is how people drive it. I see many on the interstate flying by me at 80 mph, negating the advantages of the hybrid. It ceases to be a hybrid at these speeds and operates like a standard 4 cyl. car. Advantage is lost.
I am not a Hummer fan. I drive a Ford Super Duty pickup most of the time out of necsessity, for my business. I don't like driving 70K miles/yr. @ 13 MPG. I must tow heavy loads and frequent muddy construction sites so it is my ideal work vehicle. I drive a Suburu the rest of the time.
Finally, a lot of people cringe when they see the phrase "trickle-down economics" but that is exactly how economies work in this world. Smart, ambitious people generate wealth, which is invested or spent. These funds trickle down to the average person, whether a landscaper, sales person, assembly line worker, etc. As evidence I offer the current "trickle-down" of the recession to the average person. Without the investment of capital, no jobs can be created.
I am a small business owner of a film production company. I understand hiring workers and paying taxes etc. I work hard to make a living and employ other people. I dont oppose people accumulating wealth. People should benefit from their hard work. No one likes to pay more taxes. But What happened in the last 8 years or more was an unnaturally large redistribution of wealth from the middle class to the wealthy. It got out of kilter and needs rebalancing. Thats my opinion.
Its not hard. Huge corporations run this country. Policies in the way governments tax business's is 100 percent biased against the small business owner. Why would large corporations want small business's that might one day compete against their market share to survive? Easy, tax the crap out of them. And trust me, as a small business owner, they are taxing the crap out of me. Bush was taxing the crap out of me, and Obama will continue to tax the crap out of me. Until the people run the country, and not large corporations, and their interests, then its how it will always be. I have to lay off workers because of taxes I pay, and get nothing back for. THese taxes to not employ anyone, they just allow the govenment to spend more(any government job is a negative to society. The fewer government jobs the better our country.
Going back and forth to find blame and put it on any one person or party is pointless and a waste of time....This problem is everyones fault....From giving up all of our local work to illegals.... instead buying things from the US we buy from countries that do respects or even like us but cater to us just for our money....Selling our homes for more than their actual value....including the commissions that are ammortized over 30 year loans....buying oil instead of finding and refining our own....people spending money the dont have...Given bounses that are not earned....Taken care of sicknesses and poor people from other countries while we have our own sick and poor here....The point is this train has been running full steam ahead for a very long time...and now its time to pay the pipper..... and as usual instead of people getting their asses in gear and getting to work to straighten out this mess its easier to try to find blame...So either your part of the problem or your part of the solution... For the last 30 years or longer we have all been part of the problem.....And now its time to become a responsible and accountable country and figure out how to fix and pay for all our mistakes.....America still is the greatest country in the world so people need to Love it...Get you asses back to work and make it ours again pay to fix all of our mistakes and if you dont want to contribute your share.... then those people should get the F++k out of here! So stop blaming it on Bush or Carter or Clinton or who ever... but when you look in the mirror you will proberly see who is to blame in one way or another.....All of us! Yes you too!
PS...This is not pointed to anyone in particular but to actually all!
everytime it hits .34 they drop the ask to .33 wtf is that shit.
I find nothing wrong with that. However, I (and apparently Relmor as well) worry that the burden may fall unfairly on the small guy (us) and not the big guys, most of whom contributed bigtime to President Obama's campaign, (and Bush's, and Cinton's and....). Will they get a better shake out of this deal than us, or not? I hope not.

Bananaz................ interesting article, I'll keep my Hummer. My wife is safe driving it. I'm 6'3" tall and I would'nt trade the room or the COMFORT. Great on vacation. Thanks. ..killer.
We knew sirius was developing their own iPhone app. They mentioned iPods but gave no specifics. This is also a desktop app we are talking about so I have no clue.
Charles seems to feel that I may be reading too much into the screenshot. He doubts there is a connection between the 2. As much as every ounce of me seems to think there is no way in heck Nicemac would use a sirius screenshot to promote a nonsirius product, Charles is usually right on these tech things.
I totally agree, relmor. The scary part, coming from the old world I can assure you there is much more to come if they go the same path.
Glenn Beck was on Fox Business AH and he compared the Obama-Admin.
with vampires, once they at your neck they don't let you go, they finally suck you dry.
