The COVID-19 death toll is now 163,921 worldwide and 39,856 in the United States. Yesterday in Los Angeles County, 81 people died of the virus. It was the county's highest single-day death count, bringing the total to 576. In Ventura County, Port Hueneme Beach has reopened. It had been closed since April 1. All the restrooms remain closed and police will patrol the area to make sure beachgoers are wearing face masks and maintaining "social distancing." Wow, sounds fun. Let's all go to the beach!
