On the day of the deadly riot – which he incited – Trump used an official White House telephone to call a Retrumplican Senator but did not make note of it in the call log as the Presidential Records Act requires him to do. Trump also phoned Kevin McCarthy on that day and did not note it in the call log. In fact, the January 6 call log has a seven-hour gap. What is Trump hiding?

Lonnie Coffman, 72, parked his truck – filled with 11 Mason jars filled with gasoline and Styrofoam, several unregistered firearms, hundreds of rounds of ammo, a stun gun, machetes and a crossbow with bolts – a few blocks from the Capitol on January 6. "He had almost a small armory in his truck, ready to do battle," Judge Colleen Kollar-Kotelly said before sentencing Coffman to several months above what prosecutors had recommended.

On the morning of January 6, 2021, Ivanka was in the Oval Office when Donald Trump phoned Mike Pence to urge him to reject Biden's Electoral College votes – which of course is something the Vice President had no power or authority to do. Trump called Pence a "wimp" and told him, “You don’t have the courage to make a hard decision.” Trump was hoping to steal the election.

Donald Trump never admits he's wrong about anything, nor does he ever apologize for anything. Thus, the January 6 Capitol riot was not his fault, even though he ordered his blindly loyal supporters to "march to the Capitol" and "fight like hell" to "stop the steal." And Trump blames Nancy Pelosi and the DC Mayor for not stopping the riot. Tell me, delusional Donald, how could those two women have stopped such a violent insurrection?

Another blindly loyal Trump supporter will be going to prison. Charles Donohoe is one of several Proud Boys members who led the rioters. He could get 70 to 87 months but he agreed to testify against his co-defendants in the hope of getting a lighter sentence.

Donald Trump has spent 17 months insisting he won the 2020 Presidential election "in a landslide" and claiming – with zero evidence – that there was "widespread voter fraud" and the election was "rigged" and "stolen." He incited a deadly riot by commanding his blindly loyal supporters to "march to the Capitol" and "fight like hell" to "stop the steal." However, I believe the jury in this case will conclude that this defendant is responsible for his own actions. He will be joining hundreds of other blindly loyal Trump supporters in prison.

Trump's daughter Ivanka and her husband Jared Kushner have already testified. When will it be Trump's turn? Although he will probably invoke the Fifth Amendment in response to every question.

The New York Times, quoting a passage from This Will Not Pass, a new book by Alex Burns and Jonathan Martin, reported today that Kevin McCarthy told other GOP leaders following the deadly, Trump-incited Capitol riot that he knew Trump would be impeached and planned to urge him to resign. McCarthy of course denied the report. McCarthy of course is a liar. Audio of his phone call has been released.
