The coronavirus death toll is now 724,081 worldwide, 164,094 in the United States, 99,702 in Brazil, 51,311 in Mexico, 46,511 in the UK, 42,578 in India and 35,190 in Italy. In Georgia, 4,117 have died – and that number is likely to get much higher. A few days ago, a seven-year-old Georgia boy became the youngest to die of COVID-19 in the state. He had attended a church service and come in contact with two elderly people who also wound up dying of COVID-19. And now we have this news:

The global COVID-19 death toll is now 727,540. The United States accounts for 164,765 (22.65%) of those deaths. The Republican party now exists in name only. It has become the Donald Trump party. Trump is the cult leader and his blindly loyal followers worship him, adore him, support him, defend him and believe every lie he tells them. If Trump, à la Jim Jones, asked them to drink cyanide-laced grave Flavor Aid, they would gladly and willingly do so. If Trump refuses to wear a mask, well, by God, his cult members will also refuse to wear a mask – and boo a reporter who dares to question their cult leader.

Trump says without proof that FDA 'deep state' slowing COVID trials
Reuters, Aug 22 2020 9:42 AM
President Donald Trump today, without providing evidence, accused members of the "deep state" at the Food & Drug Administration, of working to slow testing of COVID-19 vaccines until after the November presidential election. In a Twitter post, Trump said the deep state "or whoever" at the FDA is making it very difficult for drug companies to enroll people in clinical trials to test vaccines and therapies for the novel coronavirus. The comment came after Reuters exclusively reported on Thursday that FDA Commissioner Stephen Hahn said he would resign if the Trump administration approved a vaccine before it was shown to be safe and effective. "Obviously, they are hoping to delay the answer until after November 3rd. Must focus on speed and saving lives!" Trump wrote.

In Donald Trump's world, everything is about Donald Trump. Everything – even the COVID-19 pandemic. He doesn't care about the lives of Americans but he cares that the pandemic could hurt his re-election chances. Therefore, he downplayed it, beginning on January 22 when he told CNBC's Joe Kernen, "It's one person coming in from China. We have it under control. It's going to be just fine." According to Worldometers.info, the COVID-19 death toll in the United States is now 194,679.
Biden slams Trump for concealing pandemic threat
CNN, Sep 9 2020 2:31 PM ET
Democratic Presidential nominee Joe Biden today accused President Donald Trump of "a life-and-death betrayal of the American people" hours after journalist Bob Woodward revealed ahead of the publication of his new book, Rage, that Trump had concealed the true threat posed by coronavirus.
While campaigning in Michigan, Biden pointed to Trump telling Woodward in a recorded February interview that the virus was more deadly than the flu, airborne and highly contagious. "He knew it and purposely played it down. Worse, he lied to the American people. He knowingly and willingly lied," Biden said about the threat posed by the virus, which has now left more than 185,000 Americans dead. "It's beyond despicable. It's a dereliction of duty. It's a disgrace," Biden said. "He failed to do his job on purpose. It was a life-and-death betrayal of the American people."

The COVID-19 death toll in the United States is now 198,775 – and Doctor Donald Trump is doing everything he can to ensure the number keeps increasing.
Analysis: Trump ignores science at dangerous indoor rally
CNN, Sep 14 2020 11:01 AM ET
President Donald Trump offered a glaring new example of his refusal to put medical science before politics with a large indoor rally Sunday night that made a mockery of social distancing, while the pandemic he mismanaged has now claimed more than 194,000 American lives.
The event in Nevada – his second rally in the state in as many days – did not only risk the health of those present, thousands of whom were packed together inside a manufacturing facility in defiance of the state's ban on local gatherings of 50 people or more. It also has the potential to turn into a super spreader event that could seed COVID-19 outbreaks in the wider community. Trump hadn't held an indoor rally in nearly three months, since his last one in Tulsa, after which the city saw a surge in cases and multiple campaign staffers along with Secret Service agents tested positive for the virus.
