House Speaker Nancy Pelosi issued this statement tonight: "The White House should be warned that continued efforts to hide the truth of the President's abuse of power from the American people will be regarded as further evidence of obstruction. Mr. President, you are not above the law. You will be held accountable."

Emperor Trump abused his power and abused his oath of office by withholding military aid to Ukraine, then pressuring Ukraine to investigate his likely 2020 political opponent. Emperor Trump even admitted doing so on live television! And the evidence continues to mount:

In addition to the four new polls cited in this story, recent polls from CNN, Fox News and USA TODAY/Ipsos also show growing support for Trump's impeachment and growing support for Trump's removal from office.
Majority of Americans back impeachment inquiry: Polls
Yahoo News, Oct 9 2019 12:58 PM
The White House says the impeachment inquiry into President Trump is "baseless" and "unconstitutional." Most Americans disagree. Four new national polls released in the past two days show at least 50% of respondents support the House probe, which was triggered by a whistleblower’s complaint against Trump over his repeated requests for Ukraine to investigate former Vice President Joe Biden and his son. And all four surveys – Quinnipiac, Politico/Morning Consult, NBC/Wall Street Journal, Washington Post/Schar School – found more Americans back the impeachment inquiry than do not.

Speaking today at a campaign event in Rochester, New Hampshire, Joe Biden called for the impeachment of Donald Trump:
"With his words and his actions, President Trump has indicted himself by obstructing justice, refusing to comply with the congressional inquiry. He’s already convicted himself. In full view of the world and the American people, Donald Trump has violated his oath of office, betrayed this nation and committed impeachable acts. To preserve our Constitution, our democracy, our basic integrity, he should be impeached. But we have to remember that impeachment isn't only about what the President has done. It's about the threat the President poses to the nation if allowed to remain in office. One thing about this President is absolutely clear. He has seen no limits to his power regardless of what the Constitution says. He believes the entire United States government can be corrupted into furthering his personal political needs. He's even willing to hold Congress and Congressionally appropriated aid to a foreign nation hostage to his personal political demands. He believes if he does something, it's legal. Period. And perhaps, most importantly, he believes there is nothing we can do about it. He believes he can and will get away with anything he does. We all laughed when he said he could stand in the middle of Fifth Avenue and shoot someone and get away with it. It's no joke. He's shooting holes in the Constitution and we can not let him get away with it."
Amen! Of course Congressional Republicans and Trump's blindly loyal supporters will continue to follow the irresistible lure of the orange-skinned Pied Piper and continue to insist he has done nothing wrong – ever. "There is none so blind as he who will not see."

Two-thirds of voters say it's wrong for a United States President to ask foreign countries to investigate a political rival. The other one-third are probably Republicans who choose to ignore Federal election laws which prohibit political candidates from accepting donations, contributions or any "thing of value" from foreign nationals.

"Vengeance is mine, says the Emperor. I will repay." That's a verse from the Trumpworld Bible. Emperor Trump is loyal only to himself, not to the United States of America. He wants all the Congressional Republicans to likewise be loyal to him, not to the United States of America. He will viciously attack any Republican who dares to criticize him, just as he's already attacked Mitt Romney and former Arizona Senator Jeff Flake. Emperor Trump is a deranged lunatic! Three hundred ninety days till Election Day.

In a tweet today, Emperor Trump made the false claim that only 25% of Americans want him impeached. Actually, seven national polls give the number as 51% or higher. One poll says 58%. In the same tweet, Trump also parroted his tired old mantras "Fake news!" "Scam!" and "Witch hunt!"
The three articles of impeachment Richard Nixon was facing before he decided to resign from office were "obstruction of an investigation," "refusal to comply with subpoenas" and "misuse of law enforcement and intelligence agencies for political purposes." Emperor Trump is guilty of those same offenses. But, unlike Nixon, Emperor Trump is above the law. At least he thinks he is.

Chris Cillizza, CNN's editor at large, notes Rudy Giuliani "appears to be right in the middle of virtually every Ukraine controversy coming out of the Trump White House" and is a threat to Trump's Presidency. Why, Cillizza asks, has Trump not fired Giuliani? I can answer that: Emperor Trump will never fire anyone who is blindly loyal and unquestioningly supportive of him. He will never fire anyone who worships him almost as much as he worships himself.
How is Rudy Giuliani *still* the President's personal lawyer?
