Many legal scholars and Democratic leaders believe Donald Trump should be disqualified from running for President. They cite Section 3 of the 14th Amendment to the Constitution, which declares that no one who has "taken an oath to support the Constitution" and then "engaged in insurrection or rebellion" against the United States may hold any federal, state, civil or military office. Trump, of course, has never believed in the Constitution or any of its amendments.

Cameroon's President Paul Biya is 90. Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas and Saudi Arabian King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud are 89. Pope Francis and Norway's King Harald V are 86. American voters should pay more attention to Biden's qualifications, policies and accomplishments instead of focusing on his age.

The Constitution of the United States stipulates that a Senate candidate must be at least 30 and a Presidential candidate must be at least 35. There is no maximum age – but 77% of Americans believe there should be an age limit. In other words, no matter how good a job a President or Senator is doing, he would be forced to retire when he reaches a certain age. That would require an amendment to the Constitution – and that is not likely to happen.

Trump vows to ban all news media that do not praise him
Meidas Touch, Sep 24 2023
Donald Trump launched into his most overtly fascist assault on the First Amendment in a Sunday night tirade, promising that he will remove from the airwaves any news media that are not friendly towards him should he be reelected as President of the United States.
Trump specifically took aim at NBC News to make his point, writing that the network "should be investigated for its Country Threatening Treason." Trump then made his intentions crystal clear:
"I say up front, openly, and proudly, that when I WIN the Presidency of the United States, they and others of the LameStream Media will be thoroughly scrutinized for their knowingly dishonest and corrupt coverage of people, things and events. Why should NBC, or any other of the corrupt & dishonest media companies, be entitled to use the very valuable Airwaves of the USA, FREE? They are a true threat to Democracy and are, in fact, THE ENEMY OF THE PEOPLE! The Fake News Media should pay a big price for what they have done to our once great Country!"

U.S. Customs & Border Protection reported last week that in August their agents had 232,972 "encounters" with migrants along the southwest border. The majority – 181,059 – were at ports of entry. The Department of Homeland Security has removed or returned more migrants in the past four months than in any previous full year.
Former Homeland Security secretary Jeh Johnson says Trump's reelection chances will be maximized if the federal government doesn't treat the migrant crisis as an 'all hands on deck' situation

Section 3 of the 14th Amendment to the Constitution of the United States says no one who has "engaged in insurrection or rebellion" or "given aid or comfort" to insurrections can run for public office. That should disqualify Donald Trump, who incited a deadly riot at the Capitol – but the Supreme Court, which Trump stacked with pro-Trump, right-wing justices, no longer cares about the Constitution. The justices do, however, care about Donald Trump. As for Trump, who also doesn't care about the Constitution, he wrote on Truth Social that the effort to keep him off the 2024 ballot is "just another trick being used by the Radical Left Communists, Marxists and Fascists to again steal an Election." Yes, he still insists the 2020 election was rigged and stolen.

The Merriam-Webster ictionary ddefines "base" as "something (as a group of people) that reliably provides support (such as for a business or political candidate)." Donald Trump's base continues to support him. Another definition of "base" is "1. lacking or indicating the lack of higher qualities of mind or spirit; ignoble. 2. lacking higher values; degrading." That is a fitting description of Trump's blindly loyal supporters!
Many GOP anti-Trumpers are throwing in the towel
Axios, Oct 6 2023
A growing number of anti-Trump Republicans are giving up – and giving in to the belief that nothing will stop him from winning the GOP's Presidential nomination. Despite Donald Trump's poor record in the last three elections, his increasingly violent rhetoric and four felony indictments, many anti-Trump Republicans quietly are stepping back from pushing for an alternative. They've concluded that the GOP's base can't quit Trump.

Many months before the 2016 Presidential election, Trump said the only way he would lose would be if "cheating goes on." He lost the popular vote but won in the Civil War-era relic known as the Electoral College. Many months before the 2020 Presidential election, Trump said the only way he would lose would be if the election was "rigged." To this day, he still insists – with zero evidence – that the election was rigged and stolen from him. And now.......

Is there any evidence that candidates who spend millions of dollars on television ads can persuade people to vote for them? Yes. A study conducted by Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University showed that positive ads encourage more people to vote, while negative ads slightly discourage voting. Negative ads are more effective at swaying voters’ decisions.
