Today we learn of another Trump-Zelensky phone call and more pressure from Trump and Giuliani to coerce Ukraine into investigating the Bidens. The White House has not yet released the transcript of the call. Someday, Trump's picture will be in law books, gracing the pages that define "abuse of power."
Feeling the pressure
Two weeks before taking office, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and his team discussed how to handle requests from Trump administration and Giuliani to publicly launch investigations, source says.

Trump admitted asking a foreign government for political help – and then asked another foreign government for election help. Mick Mulvaney – "Get over it!" – provided confirmation of Trump's actions (and then tried, unsuccessfully, to walk back his admission). Many former and current Trump administration officials, as well as the rough transcript of the Trump-Zelensky phone call, have corroborated the whistleblower's report: Trump withheld Congressionally-approved military aid in order to pressure Ukraine into investigating the Bidens. More witnesses, including John Bolton, are expected to testify before House impeachment investigators. In November, the biggest turkey to ever occupy the White House will be impeached for abuse of power. If Senate Republicans refuse to join Democrats in voting Trump out of office, they'll be telling the world that they don't care about the Constitution, the rule of law and the Presidential oath of office. Nothing matters except Trump and the Republican party. Voters will remember this in 2020.

Trumpworld is infinitely more bizarre and more illogical than the fantasy world a seven-year-old girl was transported to in Lewis Carroll's 1865 novel Alice's Adventures In Wonderland. And, much like Humpty Dumpty in the novel, Emperor Trump creates his own reality. In Trumpworld, it's whatever he says it is.
Analysis: Trump and his defenders are inventing the reality they want

Emperor Trump, who worships himself and considers himself to be perfect, continues to insist he's done nothing wrong – ever. Today the orange-skinned Tweeter-In-Chief denounced the ongoing impeachment inquiry as a "scam" and "the biggest witch hunt in American history." How dare anyone speak ill of the Emperor!

Emperor Trump is resorting to a familiar tactic from his playbook: When facing major trouble, create a diversion. And, since the United States Attorney General acts as though he's Trump's personal attorney, creating a diversion was very easy.

The Whistleblower Protection Act of 1989, signed into law by Republican President George H.W. Bush, prohibits retaliation against federal employees who report fraud, theft, waste, corruption, abuse of power or other crimes. Emperor Trump, who is above the law and who makes his own laws, wants to know the identity of the whistleblower who gave details of Trump's phone call to Ukraine so he can retaliate. He won't get the chance. Democrats were planning to have the man testify behind closed doors at a secret location but so many current and former administration officials have corroborated his account, his testimony is no longer necessary.

Bolton was listening in on the July 25 Trump-Zelensky phone call. He was totally opposed to Trump withholding military aid from Ukraine and Giuliani pressuring Ukraine to investigate the Bidens. Trump fired Bolton in September. (The Emperor demands unquestioning loyalty!) If, as expected. Bolton testifies in the House impeachment inquiry, he will be the highest-ranking White House official to do so.

Letter from Bruce Janger of Santa Monica in today's Los Angeles Times:
"Republicans disrupt the impeachment testimony of the deputy assistant secretary of defense. The White House tells people not to comply with the impeachment inquiry. The State Department refuses to produce subpoenaed documents. Republicans threaten whistleblowers, whose identities are protected by law. The Republican strategy is to prevent evidence from seeing the light of day. It must mean President Trump doesn't have a defense on the merits. If Trump were innocent, Republicans would be falling all over themselves to produce evidence, not to suppress it."

Emperor Trump said today he knows he won't be removed from office. The reason for his confidence: "I've done nothing wrong." Yeah, keep telling yourself that, Emperor. The facts prove otherwise. And if you've done nothing wrong, why are you trying to prevent witnesses from speaking with investigators?

In Trumpworld, the United States Attorney General serves as Emperor Trump's personal attorney and the Department of Justice exists solely to preserve Emperor Trump's reign and to suppress all dissent.
Opinion: Democrats worry Barr might be helping Trump take 'revenge.' Are they right?
Michael McGough, CNN, Oct 25 2019 11:24 AM
Prominent Democrats in Congress are raising an alarm about reports that the Justice Department has opened a criminal investigation into the origins of the investigation of possible collusion between Russia and the 2016 Trump campaign. Of course, President Trump long ago concluded that the Russia investigation, eventually supervised by special counsel Robert Mueller III, was a hoax and a witch hunt.
Representatives Adam Schiff and Jerrold Nadler, the chairs of the House Intelligence and Judiciary committees respectively, said in a statement that the reports of a criminal investigation, if true, "raise profound new concerns that the Department of Justice under Attorney General William Barr has lost its independence and become a vehicle for President Trump's political revenge." Mark Warner, the top Democrat on the Senate Intelligence Committee, also expressed concern. Warner noted on Twitter that his panel "is wrapping up a three-year bipartisan investigation" of Russian interference in the 2016 election "and we've found nothing remotely justifying this." He added that Barr "needs to come before Congress and explain himself."
The Democrats' concern is understandable. Barr has repeatedly disappointed those who thought his prior service as attorney general and his reputation for professionalism would be an insurance policy against an overly political approach to the position.

Emperor Trump may someday realize that lies, secrecy, lies, cover-ups, lies, interference with investigations, lies, defiance of subpoenas, lies and intimidation of witnesses are not the actions of a man who has "done nothing wrong." He will never admit it, though. In his own little mind, he will always see himself as perfect. His galaxy-sized ego will never shrink.

House impeachment investigators have subpoenaed Kupperman, who served as deputy national security adviser from January to September 2019. Our crooked, corrupt President – who has the least transparent administration in United States history, despite his claims to the contrary – ordered Kupperman to ignore the subpoena. Emperor Trump claims his aides have "absolute immunity." In other words, they should be above the law, same as he is. Kupperman is asking a district court judge to decide which should be honored: a subpoena to testify or an order from our crooked, corrupt President to not testify.

The impeachment process is a Congressional matter and can not be adjudicated in any court – but Emperor Trump, who is above the law and who makes his own law, has been attempting to halt the impeachment inquiry by using every legal tactic he and his crooked, corrupt lawyers can think of. Federal District Court Judge Beryl Howell, in ruling that House investigators are entitled to see the unredacted Mueller report, declared the impeachment inquiry to be legal and Constitutional. Trump had attacked it as a "sham," a "coup," a "witch hunt" and "illegitimate." The White House is expected to appeal her ruling. How dare anyone try to seek the truth about Emperor Trumpl

The orange-skinned parrot outdid himself this morning. In a single tweet, he squawked about a "fake" newspaper, "phony stories," "impeachment scam" and "witch hunt" and repeated the lie that he "did nothing wrong." Yeah, that's why he's ordering everyone in his administration to ignore subpoenas to testify and to turn over documents. Can you say "abuse of power," "contempt of Congress" and "obstruction of justice"? I knew you could.

The Fake Washington Post keeps doing phony stories, with zero sources, that I am concerned with the Impeachment scam. I am not because I did nothing wrong. It is the other side, including Schiff and his made up story, that are concerned. Witch Hunt continues!

The orange-skinned parrot continues to squawk: "Witch hunt! Witch hunt! Witch hunt! Awwrkkk!" He also squawked, "The Democrats must end this scam now!" Democrats are following the impeachment process as spelled out in the United States Constitution. Of course Emperor Trump – who has committed at least five impeachable offenses: abuse of power, contempt of Congress, interference with investigations, violation of the emoluments clause and the seeking of election help from foreign governments – does not believe in the Constitution. He is above the law. The brash, blustering, bullying, blowhard buffoon is now threatening a lawsuit.

Before leaving the White House, Kelly warned Trump against hiring a "yes man" to replace him – but of course anyone who is not a yes man never lasts very long in the Trump administration. Voter support for the impeachment and removal of Donald Trump is growing – but in Wisconsin, Florida and four other swing states, more people oppose impeachment than support it. These six states could determine who wins the Electoral College in 2020. Uh-oh.
